Things don’t get any easier this weekend as they host an AFC Bournemouth outfit that have climbed up to second in the table, and are looking strong under Andoni Iraola.

Double Chance - Draw or AFC Bournemouth

Okay, let’s start with the big one. I’m backing against Manchester City at home which always feels dangerous, especially when you look at the quality of their squad. However, Aston Villa proved that they are beatable last time out in the league and they’ve now been defeated three times in the top flight already.

This isn’t really about Manchester City though, and instead I’ll focus on the Bournemouth positives. The Cherries have only been beaten once in nine games and that came on the opening day against Liverpool, when they were unfortunate to lose 4-2. Since then, they are on an eight-game unbeaten run in the league, drawing their last two on the road. 

In a bid to boost our odds straight away, I’m backing the away side to avoid defeat.

Erling Haaland to score

I am going to back goals at both ends in this one given the strength of both attacks. Erling Haaland failed to score against Villa which brought an end to his run of finding the net in six league goals on the bounce. But, he’s unlikely to be kept down for long. 

11 goals in nine Premier League matches in 2025/26, and 15 goals in 12 games in all competitions speaks for itself - so I think he should get back to scoring ways against this expansive Bournemouth side.

Eli Junior Kroupi to score

One man who has made a big name for himself already this season is Bournemouth’s new gem Eli Junior Kroupi. He’s only started the last two games for the Cherries but already has four Premier League goals this season, giving him a goals per 90 ratio of 2.18. 

By comparison, Haaland’s is 1.28, so you can see just how impactful Kroupi has been, and he’s just 19 years of age. He could be a superstar, so let’s back him to continue his fine form at the Etihad.

Tyler Adams to get booked

Bournemouth are going to have to be aggressive and competitive if they are going to get a point here, and their tough-tackling midfield of Tyler Adams and Alex Scott is going to have to get stuck in. 

Adams has already picked up four yellow cards this season which is the second highest total in the Premier League, only behind Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who has five. He’s a good price to keep up that run of cards here and takes our Bet Builder to 18/1.
