Nap of the Day: Pandemonium at Newbury on Saturday

With our usual Nap of the Day contributors, Owen and Alan, out of office, Saturday's column falls to me. It's been a while since my last one but it is a good time to come back as The Showcase takes place at Cheltenham.
But it is the action at Newbury that has my attention, particularly a runner from Simon & Ed Crisford's yard.

There are seven runners declared for the fifth race on Saturday's card at Newbury, which is a Group 3 Stakes contest over 7f. The Crisfords' entry is two-year-old colt PANDEMONIUM, and I think his 3/1 price is very appealing.
He is unbeaten after his two career starts to date, first triumphing at Yarmouth in September before following up at Redcar earlier this month. On debut he defeated Tashi Delek by three-and-a-quarter lengths, while his margin of victory on his latest appearance was two-and-a-quarter lengths.
He cost his owners, Rabbah Racing, 375,000 gns as a yearling and he is already looking to have been a sound invest after an electric start to his racing career. He is currently down as the second favourite in the market behind Charlie Appleby's Time To Turn, who has had three extra races of experience on Pandemonium.
However, the forecast is predicting soft ground at Newbury on Saturday and Pandemonium has already triumphed in these conditions at Yarmouth, while the Redcar success came over good to soft ground.
Most of Time To Turn's wins have come on either good or good to firm ground, so the current forecast could work in Pandemonium's favour. He may be competing in a higher grade but the son of No Nay Never arrives with a lot of potential, and I believe he can keep his unbeaten streak going here. I think there's a lot for connections to be excited and confident about with this horse.
James Doyle is booked for this ride, marking the third different jockey to pilot Pandemonium since his debut two months ago.
