Football Bet of the Day: Away-day ace Barrow to bag again on his travels

There might be countless fixtures from the Uefa Europa League and Uefa Conference League to choose from on Thursday, but my Football Bet of the Day for Thursday, October 23, comes from Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, where Al-Fayha entertain Al-Taawoun (16:00 BST) at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

Al-Taawoun finished eighth in the 18-team Saudi Pro League last season, and they've made a cracking start to the current campaign, winning four of their first five games. Their only defeat came on the opening weekend against Al-Nassr, who won 5-0 thanks to goals from Joao Felix (x3), Cristiano Ronaldo and Kingsley Coman.

They've won four on the trot in the league since then, thrashing Al-Ettifaq (4-1) and Damac (6-1) at home, and beating Al-Akhdoud (2-3) and Al-Khaleej (0-1) away, as well as hammering Al-Faysaly (0-4) away in the King Cup.

Al-Fayha vs Al-Taawoun Odds

Central to Al-Taawoun's success last season and this has been Gambian forward Musa Barrow, who struck 13 times in 33 SPL appearances in 2024/25 and has already struck three goals in five league games this term.

The 26-year-old bagged a brace at Al-Akhdoud on September 13 and scored the only goal of the game at Al-Khaleej on September 25, four days after netting twice in his side's cup victory.

Barrow has scored all of his goals away from home this season, including the three he has notched for Gambia. He scored their third in a 3-1 win against Kenya on September 5, and struck their fourth and fifth in a 7-0 annihilation of Seychelles on September 14, which was played in St Pierre.

On Thursday, the former Bologna attacker faces Al-Fahya, whom he scored against in a 4-1 win for Al-Taawoun in December 2023.

Al-Fahya have been decent defensively this season, only conceding six goals in five games, but they shipped half of that total in a 3-0 defeat at Al-Khaleej, a side Al-Taawoun downed 1-0 last month.

Today's Football Fixtures

Fellow forwards Roger Martinez (23/10) and Sultan Mandash (9/2) are also worthy of consideration in this market, as they have scored three and four goals, respectively, in all competitions this term, but Barrow's strong numbers last season make him the obvious candidate to score anytime for Al-Taawoun, and at 2/1, he's worth backing, in my opinion.
