We're having winners this week, which is always a blast. Our fun and games comes from Uttoxeter on Friday, an attractive seven-race card that kicks in at 13:47.

The great Sean Bowen is in attendance for what is at time of writing four booked rides, and it's a very short price indeed that at least one of them will appear in the tips listed below. He's giving off AP McCoy vibes at the moment - there's something other-worldly about his efforts, frankly, and outstanding though his fellow jocks undoubtedly are, he's breathing rarefied air at the very top of his profession in my book.

15:32 - Minella Rescue @ 11/4

Tricky-looking, very decent 2m 4f handicap hurdle - and a case in point regarding the pulling power of undoubtedly the jockey-of-the-moment.

Minella Rescue is a seven-year-old gelding with a highly respectable four-from-15 record under rules. He's trained by Gary Hanmer in Cheshire, and will be ridden by a certain Sean Bowen.

Sean's popping along nicely at a strike-rate of in excess of 30% right now, and setting exacting standards for all to follow. Saw him go about a distance clear on one in a bumper at Market Rasen the other day, allow the field to completely close with about four furlongs left, and still won. He's almost playing a different game, I swear.

The selection had a pipe-opening spin on the flat 48 days ago and Sean has been engaged on many previous occasions, so knows him well. He's got plenty of ability, has won here before, and can benefit from the champ's magic touch.

16:07 - Homme d'Un Soir @ 6/1

I'm with the Pembrokeshire maestro once again, this time aboard a nine-year-old chaser he's once again nicely familiar with.

Homme d'Un Soir has won an impressive seven times from 30 outings under rules, and three of those have been under the stewardship of trainer Billy Aprahamian, who acquired the horse in November 2023.

This one's not run for 181 days but the mere act of engaging the champion jockey tells me connections are confident of a very bold show indeed. When last seen in April at Carlisle (beaten 12.5l) he may have been over the top, as he'd won his previous two chases at Market Rasen and Ludlow.

Nice and fresh, with Bowen up top to boot, he looks to have a very obvious chance.

16:40 - Zafaan @ 7/2

Time for a five-year-old Zoffany gelding, trained by Charlie Clover in Newmarket since December 2024, and ridden by Harry Bannister.

Zafaan is a dual-purpose flat and hurdling horse, with two wins from his 25 starts to date (both on the flat). At Sedgefield 17 days ago he ran well to finish a close-up third (3.75l adrift) at around this trip and that was his first hurdle race since June.

It should have shaken off the cobwebs and from the same mark, 103, there's no reason why he shouldn't be super-competitive this afternoon. The yard have had a couple of winners from just seven runners in the last fortnight and he's another whose chance is undeniable.

17:10 - Sassipants @ 6/1

Great name, first of all. The product of a union between Getaway and Petticoat Tails!

Sassipants is a four-year-old unraced filly from the powerful yard of Dan Skelton. There's precious little to go on apart from her exalted address, and highly-capable stable conditional Tristan Durrell rides, taking off a handy 3lb into the bargain.

Market vibes will be interesting with this one - I hope the dogs are barking positively, but in any event she's with an outstanding team and I'm happy to jump on board.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £880 for your total £7.50 stake.
