Faroe Islands vs Montenegro Prediction: Away joy for Brave Falcons

Both the Faroe Islands and Montenegro need to win on Thursday to prolong their slim hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, and it could be a cagey Group L contest in Torshavn. Doing the double over Gibraltar has put the Faroes on six points, the same as Montenegro, who beat the same opponents in their opening qualifier before defeating Thursday's hosts 1-0 soon after.
It might be a bit livelier at Torsvollur, where both sides had scored in four games in a row before Croatia's 1-0 win at the ground in September. Eyoun Klakstein's side sat in for most of that match. However, if they want to get a result on Thursday, they will need to be more expansive and Montenegro may take advantage.

Team news
Geza David Turi scored a penalty in Grimsby's famous shootout win over Manchester United in August and is expected to start in midfield for the Faroes on Thursday.
Former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic still captains Montenegro, while Juventus' Vasilije Adzic is expected to start in midfield.
However, Lazio's Adam Marusic is sidelined with a muscular injury.
Faroe Islands vs Montenegro Stats
- Montenegro won March's reverse fixture 1-0
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in two of Montenegro's last three games
Faroe Islands vs Montenegro Odds
The Faroe Islands are 13/5 to win at home for only the second time in 10 games, with the draw 11/5 and Montenegro 23/20.
A repeat 1-0 win for the visiting Brave Falcons is 5/1, with the hero of March's victory, Edvin Kuc, 5/1 in the anytime scorer prices.
Montenegro to win @ 23/20
The Faroes sat deep in Niksic, having a relatively meagre 34 per cent of possession and only having four attempts at goal to their hosts' 20.
The Brave Falcons' efforts eventually paid off through Kuc's 95th-minute winner, and they are tipped to complete a Group L double over their opponents and maintain a semblance of pressure on the Croats and the Czech Republic in the section.
Although unlikely, Montenegro's squad, coached since June by former Roma and Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic, is the stronger of the pair with players plying their trades in top flights across the continent, so back the visitors to take all three points.

Over 2.5 goals @ 11/8
However, Montenegro's games are rarely straightforward affairs, with a 2-2 friendly draw against Armenia and a 4-0 defeat to Croatia coming either side of a 2-0 loss to the Czech Republic.
There were 42 shots recorded in the defeat to the Czechs and 35 in the Croatia reverse and more goals could be on the agenda.
A look back at the Faroes' last home game, a 1-0 defeat to Croatia, shows the visitors winning the shot count 26-6.
Thursday's hosts will need to be more expansive to secure a result, and the price on over 2.5 goals appeals.
Meanwhile, a 2-1 win for the visitors is 8/1.
