14:30 Bath - Queens Fort @ 18/1
After a reasonable three-year-old season, Queens Fort made her belated reappearance last month in the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster. While she finished a somewhat distant 10th, it was a respectable run as she was up against some much more match-fit opponents.
Her form from last season stands her in good stead, she ran well on debut and won on her second start before finishing a credible seventh in the Ribblesdale at last year's Royal meeting. Again, she ran well on that occasion and while she finished some way back, Queens Fort found herself tight for room around two furlongs from home which may explain why she faded somewhat in the closing stages.
She clearly has some talent and will have come on for her run at Doncaster. The drop down into Listed company should be of benefit and in these calmer waters is tipped to bounce back well.

15:55 Ayr - Ey Up Its Jazz @ 7/2
Ey Up Its Jazz has shown some decent form this season with a string of credible performances, capped with a pair of wins.
His best form has arguably come in the last month with a win at Thirsk, which was followed up by a very respectable second place at Hamilton last time out. Both times he led from the front and while that benefitted him for his win at Thirsk, Ey Up Its Jazz was just narrowly beaten by an in-form course specialist last time. It was a solid effort nonetheless and one which shows he is still in form.
The six-year-old is versatile trip-wise, so the drop back to seven furlongs will not be an issue, having won over 7f and a mile, and he seemingly does his best work in Soft ground so conditions look set to be optimal for him.

18:00 Newcastle - Shahik @ 7/4
Shahik has shown glimpses of ability in his short career so far. He made his debut in July over seven furlongs at Salisbury, and while he finished a distant third he was up against subsequent Solario Stakes winner A Bit Of Spirit and now three-time winner McMurray, who finished second.
So while it was not the perfect start to his career, Shahik was in touch with the leaders for much of the race, only fading in the closing stages. It was a reasonable effort for one so inexperienced.
He followed that up with a much more professional performance at Yarmouth three weeks ago before being dropped back to six furlongs and while he was no match for the winner the two-year-old, again, ran well throughout, staying on admirably in the closing stages and showcasing that he has the ability to win a race at this level.
It will be interesting to see how the all-weather surface affects him, as there is not much in his pedigree to suggest it will suit. But he does now have experience on his side and looks the one to beat here.
