Manchester United vs Sunderland (15:00) - Double Chance Draw or Sunderland @ 8/5

I just am not willing to back Manchester United to win a game of football right now, and so it does surprise me that they are just 1/2 to beat Sunderland on Saturday. United were beaten by Brentford last time out and the pressure is mounting on Ruben Amorim. Meanwhile, Sunderland are flying high and secured a 1-0 away win at Nottingham Forest.

The Black Cats sit fifth having racked up 11 points from six Premier League fixtures so far, while they haven’t conceded in their last two away games - including one at Selhurst Park. They can certainly pick up at least a point at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry (12:30) - Coventry -1 handicap @ 11/8

Coventry are absolutely flying right now, eight games unbeaten in the Championship having won their last two games 3-0 and 4-0. They have now scored a remarkable 22 goals in eight games this term, and look like they can tear any team in the second tier apart.

They travel to Sheffield Wednesday for the early kick-off on Saturday, and although Wednesday have put in a string of impressive performances and almost beat Birmingham away in midweek - this three-game week is going to test them to their limits. They’ve got a miniscule squad in terms of senior players, they haven’t been paid their September wages and there were even rumours that the squad would refuse to train at the end of this week. Surely another big away win awaits.

Derby County vs Southampton (15:00) - Southampton to win @ 23/20

Southampton are slowly getting their under Will Still. Ross Stewart has started the last two games and made a big impact, scoring a brace at Bramall Lane in a 2-1 win. Saints have got four points so far this week and now travel to a Derby County outfit that is struggling to live up to the pre-season billing.

Instead of challenging the play-offs, they sit 20th having only one once all season. Saints should be able to claim an important win on the road.

Preston North End vs Charlton Athletic (15:00) - Draw @ 21/10

Boring. The stat I keep repeating is that out of the last 24 fixtures in the Championship, there have been a remarkable 15 draws, with several teams evenly-matched in 2025/26. Preston and Charlton are two of those teams on the fringes of the play-offs with PNE drawing four of their eight outings this season.

Their last two games have been draws, while Charlton drew 1-1 with Derby in midweek to tot up their third draw of the season. I can’t separate these two so I’m going to back another share of the spoils at Deepdale for our acca.

Bolton Wanderers vs Peterborough United (15:00) - Bolton to win @ 4/9

We drop down to League 1 now to round off our accumulator, and Bolton are heavy favourites to beat Peterborough at home. It’s all gone wrong for Posh this season, and they currently sit bottom of the league having lost seven of their 10 outings so far.

Bolton meanwhile should be promotion contenders, but they currently sit in 11th after a shock 2-0 defeat to Northampton last time out. They were sensational in their last home game however as they battered Wigan Athletic 4-1, and I think they should have no trouble getting back to winning ways against this weak Posh side.
