Atalanta vs Club Brugge Prediction: Visitors could be set for another big result

Atalanta will look to put their 4-0 drubbing at Paris Saint-Germain behind them on Tuesday (17:45 BST, TNT Sports 3) when they welcome Club Brugge to Gewiss Stadium for matchday two of the Uefa Champions League.
The visitors posted an impressive 4-1 victory at home to Monaco in round one and they will look to build on that in Italy. Below you will find my Atalanta vs Club Brugge predictions, accompanied by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Atalanta are still having to deal with a lot of injuries presently, with Giorgio Scalvini, Isak Hien (both abductor), Nicola Zalewski (muscle), Gianluca Scamacca (knee), Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker (both cruciate ligament tears) all confined to the medical bay.
The hosts were given a boost at the weekend, though, as midfielder Ederson was named on the bench against Juventus in Serie A after overcoming an injury of his own.
Ademola Lookman is back involved with the team once again after his stand-off with the club hierarchy. The Nigerian international will compete with Kameldeen Sulemana, Lazar Samardzic and Charles De Ketelaere to feature in the supporting attacking roles behind centre-forward Nikola Krstovic.
Raphael Onyedika is absent for Club Brugge due to a hamstring problem, while goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is also ruled out owing to a groin issue.
Midfielder Hans Vanaken now has 14 goal involvements in the Champions League after recording a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win over Monaco. He will pose a threat in this contest, as will Nicolo Tresoldi, who has opened the scoring in the visitors' previous two European fixtures.
Atalanta vs Club Brugge Predicted Line-ups
- Atalanta - Carnesecchi; Kossounou, Djimsiti, Ahanor; Bellanova, De Roon, Pasalic, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere, Sulemana; Krstovic
- Club Brugge - Jackers; Sabbe, Ordonez, Mechele, Meijer; Stankovic, Vanaken; Forbs, Sandra, Tzolis; Tresoldi
Atalanta have won two of their last four competitive matches and they are 10/11 to come out on top on Tuesday.
Three of their past six contests in all competitions have ended in a stalemate and the draw is marketed at 11/4.
Club Brugge are 3/1 (implied probability of 25%) to come away with the three points, having beaten the hosts home and away in the UCL in 2024/25 knockout stage play-offs.
There have been goals at both ends in each of Atalanta's last six competitive home games and both teams to score is priced at 4/7.
Atalanta vs Club Brugge Stats
- Club Brugge beat Atalanta home and away in the knockout stage play-offs last season
- BTTS struck in both matches
Draw No Bet - Club Brugge @ 7/4
Given the attacking threat of both sides, this has all the makings to be an entertaining European battle. It wasn't so long ago that we saw these two clubs compete against one another in this very same competition as Club Brugge prevailed in the knockout stage play-offs last season.
The Belgian outfit won both legs as they turned in two excellent performances. With that in mind, I think they will be difficult to stop on Tuesday. I underestimated them against Monaco two weeks ago and I don't think I will make that mistake a second time.
They were convincing 4-1 winners in that contest, while Atalanta were hammered 4-0 at PSG. You can't knock them too much for losing like that at the home of the defending champions, though, and I think Club Brugge would've struggled at Parc des Princes.
However, that defeat aside, Atalanta have tended to have more joy on their travels than on home soil recently (one win in three home games), while the visitors' own form on the road has been improving - four wins in their last six away trips in all competitions.
Therefore, I think the 7/4 price for an away win with the Draw No Bet market seems like a sensible selection here.

Both teams to score @ 4/7
If the two meetings last season are anything to go by, this match should feature goals, particularly at both ends of the pitch. Both teams were on the scoresheet across the two legs in the play-offs last season, with four goals coming inside this very stadium as Club Brugge ran out as 3-1 winners.
Additionally, there have been goals at both ends in Atalanta's three home appearances so far in 2025/26, while three of the visitors' last four away trips in all competitions have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
