Lucky 15 Tips: Four value picks to kick off the week

There are six race meetings in Britain and Ireland on Monday with something to suit all tastes. There are flat turf meetings at Brighton, Down Royal and Hamilton, jumps contests at Newton Abbot and Roscommon and an evening all-weather fixture from Southwell.

We have a lucky 15 which takes in four of today’s meetings.

13:56 Newton Abbot - Breaking Cover @ 6/4

Only three runners go to post in Newton Abbot’s novices' limited handicap chase to kick off their meeting at 13:56, but it’s a field of prolific winners.

Centara has won four of his last five starts, with three wins coming at Newton Abbot, while

Synchronist has won two of his previous three contests.

Breaking Cover made it four from five when scoring at Worcester earlier this month and Anthony Honeyball’s hope looks best placed to go in again.

The seven-year-old jumped extremely well at Worcester last time out and can sit behind the likely pace setter Centara to pounce late.

15:00 Hamilton - Asian Journey @ 9/2

Heading to Hamilton, Asian Journey can score a Scottish success in the 15:00.

Brian Meehan’s runner had made a pretty good impression in maiden and novice races before disappointing on handicap debut at Windsor last time out.

However, the step up in trip didn’t appear to suit the four-year-old, despite Asian Journey clearly thought to be on a winning mark, given he was sent off a 7/2 chance in that run earlier this month.

The four-year-old is back over a more suitable distance at Hamilton and that should open the door for a first career success.

15:55 Brighton - Oj Lifestyle @ 11/2

Oj Lifestyle ran a good race behind an in-form and runaway winner at Epsom last time out and Gary & Josh Moore’s charge looks ready to strike on the south coast.

The five-year-old heads to Brighton with a course record of 3,5,5,1,1 and a mark of 72 doesn’t look beyond the gelding.

The likely race to force the pace will suit the strong-travelling Oj Lifestyle and the five-year-old can get back to the winner’s enclosure. Having recorded two C&D wins last year.

20:30 Southwell - Ottawa @ 7/1

Complete the lucky 15 with Ottawa in the final race of the day at Southwell.

Joseph Parr’s three-year-old is unexposed on only his seventh career start and the three-year-old ran an excellent race when finishing second behind a well-treated rival at Thirsk last time out.

That latest run was a big step in the right direction for Ottawa, who looks capable of further progress from a mark of 65.
