Malmo vs Ludogorets Prediction: Swedes to earn narrow win

Malmo face Ludogorets in the Europa League on Wednesday night (20:00, TNT Sports 7) in an intriguing encounter as the two teams are showing stuttering form. The Swedish side are well into the Allsvenskan campaign which started back in March and are currently sixth in the table after losing once and drawing twice in their last three fixtures.
As for Europe, Malmo were beaten by Copenhagen in Champions League qualifying before sealing a spot in the Europe League with a 5-0 aggregate triumph over Czech side Sigma Olomouc.

Ludogorets, meanwhile, are the current Bulgarian champions and started the new league campaign in July. The Eagles are currently two points off top spot after eight games.
Denied a place in the Champions League after losing to Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros over two legs, Ludogorets are in the Europa League after beating Shkendija of Macedonia 5-3 on aggregate.
Malmo are strong at Eleda Stadion but have hit a rough patch and not won at home for three matches. However, the team triumphed in seven straight games throughout July and the visit of Ludogorets presents an opportunity to return to winning ways.
The Bulgarian side are not great travellers in Europe and have failed to win any of their last 16 away games in the Europe League.
Drawing six matches and losing 10, the Bulgarians last won on the road in this competition against Ferencvaros back in October 2019.
Team News
Malmo have been without striker Erik Botheim since May after the forward suffered a broken leg and so Daniel Gudjohnson is expected to start up front. Winger Arnor Sigurdsson has also been sidelined with a thigh injury.
Ludogorets defender Georgi Terziev is out with a knee injury while midfielder Aguibou Camara has not featured since coming off early against Dinamo Minsk in July.
Malmo are 8/11 to win on Wednesday, while the draw is 13/5 and Ludogorets are 4/1 to claim victory.
Ludogorets’ previous two games have featured two goals or less and under 2.5 goals being scored in this match is 4/5.
Malmo to win @ 8/11
Malmo will be keen to give their home fans something to shout about and will be confident of getting back on track against Ludogorets.
The Bulgarian side have not won away in this competition for six years while Malmo went unbeaten in Sweden in four home European qualifying matches, winning three and drawing once.
When Malmo last hosted Ludogorets in Champions League back in August 2021, the Swedes won 2-0 and can earn a repeat victory.

Daniel Gudjohnsen anytime goalscorer @ 7/4
Daniel Gudjohnsen only turned 19 this year but has scored five goals in 25 appearances for Malmo this season, including a brace in the recent 2-2 draw at Elfsborg.
The youngest son of former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnson, Daniel was born in London in 2006. Growing up in Spain and playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid youth teams, Gudjohnsen has settled in Sweden and appears to have a bright future in the game.
Capped twice already by the Iceland national team, Gudjohnsen will be hoping to make a name for himself in the Europa League and can net against Ludogorets having already opened his European goalscoring account in the qualifying win over Sigma Olomouc.
