Championship Predictions: Norwich could end Parkinson’s Wrexham chapter

Gameweek 6 of the Championship rolls around this weekend and when it comes to our predictions leaderboard, I, Conor, have some catching up to do. Both me and Simon are on 25 points, 10 behind current leader Nick.
Below you will find our Championship predictions for the weekend ahead.
Conor's Championship Predictions - Gameweek 6
- Middlesbrough vs West Bromwich Albion (Friday 20:00 BST) - 1-0 @ 13/2
- Birmingham City vs Swansea City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 1-1 @ 11/2
- Leicester City vs Coventry City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 2-2 @ 11/1
- Queens Park Rangers vs Stoke City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 1-2 @ 17/2
- Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Town (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-3 @ 16/1
- Derby County vs Preston North End (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-1 @ 5/1
- Hull City vs Southampton (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 0-2 @ 11/1
- Norwich City vs Wrexham (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 2-1 @ 7/1
- Portsmouth vs Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 2-0 @ 6/1
- Sheffield United vs Charlton Athletic (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-0 @ 5/1
- Bristol City vs Oxford United (Sunday 15:00 BST) - 3-1 @ 12/1
- Millwall vs Watford (Monday 20:00 BST) - 1-1 @ 11/2

Middlesbrough vs West Bromwich Albion (Friday 20:00 BST) - 1-0 @ 13/2
Middlesbrough sit top of the Championship table heading into Friday's game, where they welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Riverside Stadium. Boro are unbeaten in their opening five games of the campaign, while Albion have lost just once.
The hosts' previous two home appearances this term have seen them win by a 1-0 scoreline, which has all been the case in two of the last three outings against West Brom.
Nick: 1-1
Simon: 2-0
Birmingham City vs Swansea City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 1-1 @ 11/2
Birmingham City suffered back-to-back league defeats for the first time under Chris Davies when they were beaten at Stoke City last weekend. They have struggled to create chances in recent weeks which they need to improve if they are to maintain their unbeaten home record in the league.
Swansea City make the trip to St. Andrew's on Saturday, having just defeated Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The Swans will pose a threat to the Blues but I think on home soil, the hosts should have enough to get a result.
Nick: 2-0
Leicester City vs Coventry City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 2-2 @ 11/1
Leicester City and Coventry City have both enjoyed strong starts to the season and the two rivals meet at the King Power. Both sides have shown their capabilities in front of goal but there are questions surrounding their defences, which could leave them exposed to one another.
A high-scoring draw feels appropriate here.
Nick: 2-3
Simon: 1-4
Queens Park Rangers vs Stoke City (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 1-2 @ 17/2
Stoke's excellent start to the campaign continued against Birmingham and they will be hoping for another victory when they travel to face Queens Park Rangers. The Rs have won their last two outings in the second tier 3-1, so this may be a more challenging contest for Mark Robins' men.
The Potters have shown strength that we have not seen from them for many years, though, and I think they may just have that added bit of quality to claim the three points.
Nick: 1-1
Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Town (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-3 @ 16/1
Blackburn Rovers have lost their last three home games, which is not ideal with promotion favourites Ipswich Town heading to Ewood Park on Saturday. The Tractor Boys recorded their first win of the season at home to Sheffield United last time out, winning 5-0.
Things look like they are starting to click for Kieran McKenna's side and I think they can put another win on the board here.
Nick: 0-3

Derby County vs Preston North End (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-1 @ 5/1
After a shaky start to the season, things look to be turning around for Derby County. The Rams are unbeaten in their past three outings in the Championship, claiming their first win of the season at West Brom last time out.
They return to Pride Park on Saturday to face Preston North End, who have started the season in good form. The Lilywhites tend to fare better at Deepdale than on their travels but I think with the way they have started the season, they can get a result in Derbyshire.
Nick: 2-0
Hull City vs Southampton (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 0-2 @ 11/1
Hull City are still waiting for their fortunes to turn around, having won just one of their five league fixtures to date in 2025/26. The Tigers face a difficult home game against Southampton this weekend, with the Saints looking to respond after their goalless draw with rivals Portsmouth.
There is a big gulf in class between the two squads on paper and I think this will be evident out on the pitch.
Nick: 0-2
Norwich City vs Wrexham (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 2-1 @ 7/1
Norwich City almost snatched a victory at Coventry last week, before Haji Wright equalised in the dying seconds. The Canaries were under the cosh for most of the game but they are now unbeaten in their last two outings in the second tier.
They host Wrexham at Carrow Road next, with the Red Dragons currently struggling to adapt to the Championship. Reports are already suggesting that boss Phil Parkinson is under pressure and a defeat here could be the final nail in the coffin due to the owners' lofty ambitions and the £30m squad spend in the summer.
Nick: 2-2
Simon: 6-1

Portsmouth vs Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 2-0 @ 6/1
Portsmouth played well at St. Mary's against their rivals Southampton last Sunday. They were on top in the first half, and defended resolutely in the second. They will look to build on this as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Fratton Park.
The Owls remain winless in the Championship, which is no surprise given the turmoil the club have been plunged into by reckless owner Dejphon Chansiri. Wednesday have lost two league games on the bounce heading to the south coast and I think they will fall to a third at Pompey.
Nick: 3-0
Sheffield United vs Charlton Athletic (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-0 @ 5/1
Chris Wilder is back at Sheffield United for his third stint in charge, so get your bets in now for when his fourth reign will begin. The Blades need a big kick up the backside to get their season up and running, having lost all five games to date.
Charlton Athletic make the trip to Bramall Lane and the Addicks are most likely gutted they're not facing Ruben Selles' side. I think they will fall victim to the classic new (if we can really say that about Wilder) manager bounce, and a narrow home win, secured by strong organisation, seems likely.
Nick: 1-1
Bristol City vs Oxford United (Sunday 15:00 BST) - 3-1 @ 12/1
After comfortably dispatching Wednesday 3-0 at Hillsborough last time out, Bristol City will fancy their chances to secure their fourth win of the season as they host Oxford United at Ashton Gate.
The U's have managed consecutive draws against Coventry City and Leicester City but they are still yet to win a match in the Championship this term. Only Coventry (15) have scored more goals than Bristol City (12) this season, so I think the Robins can win by a couple here.
Nick: 1-1
Millwall vs Watford (Monday 20:00 BST) - 1-1 @ 11/2
Monday night's offering sees Millwall clash with Watford at The Den. The hosts are without a win in their previous two league games, while it is three for their opponents.
The two teams have currently blown hot and cold in the Championship so far so I think there is little to separate them, and a stalemate may be on the cards.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 2-0
