Wolves vs Leeds Prediction: Old Gold and Whites to combine for yellow and red

Wolverhampton Wanderers will hope it's fifth time lucky on Saturday (15:00 BST) when they host Leeds United at Molineux. The Old Gold have lost their first four Premier League games this season, piling the pressure on head coach Vitor Pereira ahead of this weekend's visit from the newly-promoted Whites.
Below are my Wolves vs Leeds predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Jorgen Strand Larsen (calf) could miss a third straight match for Wolves, with Pereira admitting that the issue was "more serious" than expected.
Meanwhile, Leon Chiwome and Enso Gonzalez (both knee) remain in the Old Gold treatment room.
Jhon Arias and Jackson Tchatchoua are angling for recalls to the starting XI after dropping down to the bench in last Saturday's 1-0defeat at Newcastle United.
Lucas Perri (quad) missed Leeds' 1-0 loss at Fulham last weekend, and the Brazilian shot-stopper has been ruled out of Saturday's trip to Wolverhampton. Karl Darlow will deputise again between the sticks.
Welsh winger Dan James took a whack to his side upon winning a free-kick shortly after coming on at Craven Cottage, and he was taken off just 12 minutes after his introduction. It remains to be seen whether James is fit enough to feature on Saturday, likewise Joel Piroe, who was absent in west London with a foot injury.
Wolves vs Leeds Predicted Lineups
- Wolves - Sa; Agbadou, Mosquera, Toti; Bueno, Andre, J. Gomes, Krejci, R. Gomes; Arokodare, Arias
- Leeds - Darlow; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Longstaff, Ampadu, Stach; Gnonto, Calvert-Lewin, Aaronson
Bottom-of-the-table Wolves are 13/8 to get off the mark on Saturday with all three points, implying a 38.1% probability of success, and making them slight favourites ahead of Leeds, who are 7/4, or a 36.4% chance, to win as they did the last time they visited Molineux in March 2023 (2-4).
The draw is priced at 2/1, while Both Teams to Score - No, which has landed in all of the Whites' league games this season, and three of the Old Gold's four, is backable at 4/5, with the reverse on offer at 10/11.

Match Result - Wolves @ 13/8
I know Wolves are pointless in the table, and that Leeds have four points from as many matches, but considering the calibre of teams they have faced in the first month, and the fact they are at home to a newly-promoted side that are yet to score a league goal from open play, I'm shocked the Old Gold are such a high price to win, and are only narrowly favourites to collect all three points.
To start, let's look at the sides Wolves have played this season. First up was a visit from Manchester City (0-4), who have won six of the last eight Premier League titles, and collected four in a row before Liverpool broke their resistance earlier this year.
Then, Pereira's charges took a trip to Bournemouth (1-0), who scored the only goal of the game in the fourth minute and played most of the second half with a man advantage thanks to Toto's 49th-minute dismissal. The Cherries came ninth last season, 14 points ahead of Wolves.
Third on the agenda was a reinvigorated Everton, who, inspired by on-loan £100m man Jack Grealish, won 3-2 at Molineux. The Toffees have been tipped for big things under David Moyes, and won't be a pushover for many, if any, sides.
Last Saturday, Wolves were narrowly beaten 1-0 at Champions League club Newcastle United, who handed a debut to German centre-forward Nick Woltemade, who arrived at the Magpies in an initial £65m deal.
No points after four games is still poor, but Saturday is the start of a relatively favourable run of fixtures for Wolves, who play Sunderland (A), Burnley (H) and Fulham (A) in three of their next five games after Leeds.
Let's not forget, too, that Wolves have beaten a Premier League side this season, West Ham United (3-2), in the Carabao Cup on August 26.
Leeds, meanwhile, scraped a 1-0 win over Everton at Elland Road in their first game back in the top flight, only thanks to an 84th-minute penalty from Lucas Nmecha. Since that victory, the Whites have been battered 5-0 at Arsenal, drawn 0-0 at home with Newcastle, and lost 1-0 at Fulham. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties by troubled Championship club Sheffield Wednesday (1-1), who started nine players aged 20 or under at Hillsborough.
Both Wolves and Leeds are expected to be in a relegation battle this season, so Saturday's game is a significant one, even at this stage.
Ultimately, I feel compelled to back the side with greater experience and quality, Wolves, who will also benefit from home advantage. There's the potential for things to get toxic in Molineux on Saturday, but should the hosts start strong and take the lead, supporters will surely get right behind their players, and that should see the Old Gold through to a vital three points.

Booking Points Over/Under +42.5 - Over 42.5 @ 6/4
Leeds haven't been involved in any particularly feisty games so far this term, with their first three in the Premier League producing exactly two yellows (20 booking points), and the latest, at Fulham, ending with three yellows (30 booking points).
However, I think things are about to change for the Whites, who, for the first time this season, are facing a side they genuinely hope to finish above.
I'm expecting a closely fought contest at Molineux, with some physical challenges in the middle of the park, especially with Andre and Joao Gomes for Wolves, and Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach for Leeds, players who enjoy the dirtier side of the game.
Joao Gomes and Andre were shown 11 and seven Premier League yellows, respectively, last season, with the former, who was booked against Leeds in a 4-2 defeat at Molineux in March 2023, also earning a red. Meanwhile, Ampadu received seven cautions in the 2024/25 EFL Championship, and Stach eight in the Bundesliga.
Wolves have been involved in a couple of hot-blooded matches this season, with 85 booking points recorded in their defeat at Bournemouth (65 for the Old Gold) and 50 in last weekend's loss at Newcastle, where they accounted for 80% of the total.
The last meeting between these two teams, the aforementioned loss for Wolves in March 2023, saw eight yellows and one red (plus another off-field dismissal for Matheus Nunes) dished out, racking up 105 booking points in total.
