Lucky 15 Tips: Blenheim Star primed for Brighton success

There are three meetings in the UK and Ireland on Sunday as the month of August runs out. Jumps action is from Worcester, while they line up on the Flat at Brighton and Tipperary, with Group-race action from Ireland.

My Lucky 15 selection for Sunday's action is below, including picks from all three venues.

15:10 Worcester - Siouxfonic @ 1/1

The bumper at Worcester offers a good chance for SIOUXFONIC to land a win on yard debut for James Owen.

The four-year-old was second on debut last month at Tipperary, finding just one too strong in a field of 16, that being the well-backed favourite, Ebony King - winner of a maiden hurdle at the Galway Races on his next start.

The fourth home, Lemon Zest, won a bumper at Killarney soon after and, with champion jockey Sean Bowen in the saddle here, Siouxfonic has excellent claims of going one spot better for a trainer who does well with similar types.

15:30 Tipperary - Bravais @ 2/1

The extended seven furlong trip awaits the six runners in the Glenvale Stud Race at Tipperary and there are plenty of pace angles, ensuring this contest should be run at a good clip.

That augurs well for BRAVAIS for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane in the Juddmonte silks.

The gelded son of Frankel won over course and distance in April on his second start after arriving from France and has run big races in defeat the Fairyhouse and Naas since in four outings.

He had too much on his plate at Galway (7f, soft) last time out in premier handicap company but should find this more to his liking and run to suit.

15:52 Brighton - Blenheim Star @ 7/1

A mile is the trip for the It Takes A Village Handicap at Brighton and the William Knight-trained filly BLENHEIM STAR looks well placed for a big run in the hands of Callum Shepherd.

The daughter of Churchill is a regular at this seaside venue and has three course and distance wins, finishing out of the first three only twice in eight runs over track and trip.

Most recently, she was beaten less than a length when finishing third at the start of this month, not done any favours by getting a bump late on, having seemingly come to win her race as Danehill Star faltered in front.

She seemingly got stuck as the meat in the sandwich as Poetic Force flashed home outside them. Is off the same mark and Shepherd replaces an apprentice rider.

17:30 Tipperary - Charlie Brow'n @ 8/1

The finale in Ireland is the Home & Agri Energy Handicap over 1m4½f and a contest in which plenty of interest will be drawn towards Polish import Glady Eagle, who debuts for Willie Mullins and has a proven ability to handle soft going.

Preference is for CHARLIE BROW'N for the TJ O'Mara and Wayne Lordan combo. He remains a maiden after 13 starts, but was back from 245 days off when running a close third at Killarney over 1m3½f on soft going in the middle of last month.

That was improved form and hinted that there could be more to come tackling this sort of trip as it was his first attempt beyond an extended mile. He is on a workable mark and can take a step forward.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
