Both Teams To Score - Yes

Alongside Fulham, Brighton topped the Premier League's 'Both Teams To Score' table last season, with 71% (27) of their 38 games seeing a goal on either side.

The Seagulls kicked off the 2025/26 campaign in a similar manner, conceding late on to Fulham in a 1-1 draw at the Amex, and while they were blunted in a 2-0 defeat at Everton last Sunday, they will back themselves to get back on the scoring trail on home soil this weekend, as they have struck - and conceded - in their last five matches on the South Coast.

Brighton vs Manchester City Odds

Man City, meanwhile, shipped two first-half goals at home to Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday, losing 2-0 in East Manchester. Pep Guardiola's side have now conceded in three of their last four competitive games, including the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup during the summer.

The Citizens found it tough against Brighton last season, losing 2-1 at the Amex last November before being held to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad in March.

Both teams have scored in five of the past six meetings, and I expect that trend to continue this weekend.

Kaoru Mitoma (BHA) Shots on Target - 1+

Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma will sense vulnerabilities in the City back line on Sunday, after watching Spurs' left-winger Brennan Johnson open the scoring at the Etihad last weekend.

Mitoma hit double figures for the first time in the Premier League last season, netting 10 times in 36 appearances, and although he failed to score against City, he certainly troubled their goal in both games.

Today's Football Fixtures

The 28-year-old forced a save from City No. 1 Ederson Moraes at the Amex, before putting back-up goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to work for his two efforts at the Etihad.

He's yet to find the target this term, but Mitoma did hit the crossbar against Everton last weekend, and averaged 0.8 shots on target in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, and looks a good bet to test James Trafford on Sunday.

Brighton vs Manchester City Bet Builder Stats

  • BTTS-Yes landed in a joint-high 71% of Brighton's 24/25 PL games
  • Kaoru Mitoma (BHA) hit the target with all three shots against Man City last season
  • Jan Paul van Hecke (BHA) shot once in last Man City H2H
  • Tijjani Reijnders (MCI) recorded three shots in Man City's first away game

Jan Paul van Hecke (BHA) Total Shots - 1+

Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke averaged a shot every two games in last season's Premier League, just as he did in 2023/24.

The 25-year-old tried his luck against a few of the big boys, recording a couple of efforts at Arsenal, one at Liverpool, and one at City.

Premier League Odds

The Dutchman shot for the first time this term in last Sunday's defeat at Hill Dickinson Stadium, firing from long range in the 38th minute.

City have conceded a shot to a centre-back in four of their last six games, including their last away outing at Molineux on the opening weekend, when Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou unleashed from distance.

Tijjani Reijnders (MCI) Total Shots - 2+

City signed Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan ahead of the Club World Cup, where the Dutchman made three appearances and shot five times, including four in one game against Juventus.

His Premier League debut at Molineux was a memorable one as he scored with the first of his three shots and assisted Erling Haaland for his second goal.

The 27-year-old was restricted to one shot by Spurs last weekend, but two looks achievable against a Brighton side that has only kept one clean sheet in their last 14 league games.
