Northern Superchargers
The Superchargers are in a strong position to make the Playoffs in third place but topping the table and going straight to the final is highly unlikely. It would require them to beat the Invincibles here, win their last one, hope Invincibles lose theirs and even then, they'd have to fend off the Rockets who are tied on points with them but ahead on net run rate.
They're a slightly odd side with their overseas players not the most obvious choices for this format but they're finding some form when it matters, winning three of their last four. Unlike fellow Test opener Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley has been really good at the top of the order, while skipper Harry Brook's strike rate has been exceptional.
With the ball, Adil Rashid hasn't taken as many wickets as he would have liked but has been very economical. Dan Lawrence got some runs last time out while poor David Miller has hardly had a hit, given he's coming in at six.
Oval Invincibles
The Invincibles are almost justifying their name. Almost because they have lost one match in six.
That was looking like two for a good chunk of their chase against the Trent Rockets before Sam Curran and Jordan Cox went into destruction mode and hit the stunned Rockets bowlers all over the park. In the end, they won easily.
There's no doubt they're the best side in the competition, with every base covered. It tells its own story that Rashid Khan hasn't necessarily been one of their two or three most important players this season.
The pick of them has been Sam Curran, who is now a genuine all-rounder, at least in this format. His 54 off 24 on Thursday was as good an example of power hitting as you'll seen and it would be no surprise if he was Player of the Tournament for a second year running.
Northern Superchargers vs Oval Invincibles Predicted Lineups
- Northern Superchargers: Crawley, Malan, Lawrence, Brook, Pepper, Miller, Santner, Lawes, Potts, Rashid, Duffy
- Oval Invincibles: Jacks, Muyaye, Cox, Sam Curran, Ferreira, Billings, Tom Curran, Rashid Khan, Sowter, Behrendorff, Mahmood.
Pitch and conditions
Last Friday the hosts posted 193 here, which they defended easily and in the match before that at Headingley, 143 by the Fire was easily chased by the NSC.
Given this has the reputation as the best wicket in the competition and 170 is probably what the side batting first will be eyeing up. At least.
Key Odds
The Invincibles are a very tempting 4/6, implied probability of 60%. The hosts are 6/5, 45.5%.
As we said, the former are the best side in the competition and there shouldn't be any complacency here because getting one more win guarantees that top spot and a direct place in the final.
But NSC deserve some respect for being 2/2 at home so far so we reluctantly leave this market alone.

Northern Superchargers Top Batsman
Zak Crawley is the tournament's second-highest run scorer with 214; his opponent on the day, Jordan Cox, is the only man with more (256).
Crawley has top-scored twice in six matches so far and come close on another two occasions. As we know, opening the batting is the best place to bat in this format so all in all, there's some value in his quote of 7/2.

Oval Invincibles Top Bowler
There are some big names to beat here, none more so than Rashid Khan (14/5), who is the tournament's top wicket-taker with 12. Sam Curran (10/3) is tied second on the list with 10 but it's the man in joint-fourth that I'm interested in, the older of the two Curran brothers, Tom.
He has eight wickets and has won this market on one occasion, dead-heating on another. Crucially, he's 5/1 while most of the others are considerably shorter. With another possible dead-heat in mind, that could make a considerable difference to potential profits.
