Brentford vs Aston Villa Prediction: 12/5 Rogers is Villa’s biggest threat

Brentford's first home game of the 2025/26 Premier League season sees them welcome Aston Villa to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15:00 BST).

Both sides failed to pick up three points on the opening weekend as the Bees lost against Nottingham Forest while the visitors were held to a draw by Newcastle United. Read on for our Brentford vs Aston Villa predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

The hosts will be without Vitaly Janelt, Gustavo Nunes and Paris Maghoma, while Ethan Pinnock missed the defeat to Forest and the defender will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Yoane Wissa's future at the club remains up in the air, with Brentford recently rejecting a fresh bid from Newcastle, and as a result so does his involvement this weekend.

Summer signing Jordan Henderson had to settle for a role off the bench last weekend but he could be given a starting berth here, and Mikkel Damsgaard should be available after the midfielder missed last week's trip to the City Ground due to his wife giving birth to their first child.

As for Villa, Ezri Konsa is suspended after his red card last weekend, meaning that Pau Torres or Tyrone Mings could start in defence, while Ross Barkley and Andres Garcia are both set to miss out on Saturday.

Emiliano Martinez will return from suspension here after being sent off in the final game of last season, while recently crowned PFA Young Player of the Year Morgan Rogers is set to start in midfield.

Ollie Watkins is expected to lead the line  - the England international has scored in both of his last two away matches against his former club Brentford.

Morgan Rogers to score anytime @ 12/5

As mentioned above Rogers was recently crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year for a stellar 2024/25 campaign which saw him net eight goals and register a further 10 assists in 37 Premier League outings.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring in a 3-1 win over Brentford in December and also had one ruled out by VAR in the 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture on the road in March.
