Jose Mourinho in Champions League action on a Tuesday night? Yes please. His Fenerbahce side are searching to overturn a 2-1 deficit as they host Feyenoord (18:00 BST) at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, with the winner set to face Nice or Benfica in the play-offs.

Below you can find my Fenerbahce vs Feyenoord predictions featuring team news and betting tips as we search for a winner.

Team News

Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns after the first leg but he could choose to shake things up by starting two former Premier League players, Nelson Semedo and Jhon Duran. Duran should provide a different goal threat, while Milan Skriniar, formerly of Inter Milan, will be named captain at the heart of the defence.

Rodrigo Becao remains out for the long term with an ACL injury, while former Manchester United duo - Sofyan Ambrabat and Fred, could play together at the heart of the midfield. Young English defender Archie Brown will hope to get some minutes having made the move to Fenerbahce from Gent this summer.

Fenerbahce vs Feyenoord Stats

  • Feyenoord won the first leg 2-1, but the xG was 0.70 vs 0.68
  • Jhon Duran scored 12 goals in 18 games for Al-Nassr

Today's Football Fixtures

For Feyenoord, former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has a fair few injuries to deal with right now. RVP will have to guide his side through this tie without four centre-backs; Thomas Beelen (leg fracture), Gernot Trauner (Achilles), Jeremy Mitchell (muscle) and Antef Tsoungui (ACL), while left-back Gijs Smal is also set to miss out.

Anel Ahmedhodzic should start having only recently arrived from Sheffield United, alongside Tsuyoshi Watanabe. Former Brighton man Jakub Moder also looks likely to miss out with a niggle, so Quinten Timber will continue to star at the heart of midfield alongside Hwang In-beom.

Fenerbahce vs Feyenoord Odds

Fenerbahce are priced as the 7/10 favourites to win this game in 90 minutes, while the hosts are 5/6 to win the tie. That gives them an implied progression probability of 53% according to the odds, making this tie perfectly balanced going into the second leg.

A draw on the night would send Feyenoord through is 10/3, while BTTS and over 2.5 are both priced at 8/13. An away win in 90 minutes is 16/5, while Youssef En-Nesyri and Duran are both priced at 4/1 to score first.

Fenerbahce to win the tie @ 5/6

I will back Mourinho’s men to progress, despite the 2-1 deficit they need to overhaul to make it through. We all know just how much he thrives on European nights, especially on home soil, and I think his talented squad will be well up for the fight against Feyenoord.

Hadj Moussa’s last-minute winner split the two teams in the Netherlands, but it was statistically evenly balanced. Feyenoord created an xG of 0.70 on home soil, compared to Fenerbahce’s 0.68. RVP’s side managed just three shots on target in total, with two of them ending in goals in a clinical display. I just don’t think this will be the case away from home, in the cauldron that is Istanbul.

With Duran and En-Nesyri both elite options at the top end of the pitch, Fenerbahce should have enough to get the job done - in normal time or after extra time.

Jhon Duran to score at anytime @ 21/20

I think it’s worth backing Duran to find the net, based on what we have seen from the striker in recent years. He didn’t start in the first leg, as En-Nesyri lead the line ineffectively. The Moroccan failed to register a single shot in the match and could lose his starting spot as a result.

Even if he comes off the bench, Duran’s goal record speaks for itself. He got 12 goals in 18 matches in his short stint in Saudi Arabia, while at Aston Villa he got seven goals in 20 Premier League matches at the start of 2024/25. He was so good that Ollie Watkins was even dropped for the Colombian at times, and I think this move to Fenerbahce is a great one at this time of his career.

He could make himself very popular by scoring the goal that makes them progress in the Champions League.
