Lucky 15 Tips: Borderline Madness ready to kick on

There are four Monday meetings across Britain and Ireland, with a mix of jumps, Flat and all-weather action to cater for all tastes.

They race on the turf at Ayr and Windsor alongside all-weather fare from Kempton while National Hunt action comes from Ballinrobe.

Below is my Lucky15 selection from across Monday's cards, featuring impressive Yarmouth scorer Borderline Madness in her quest for the follow up.

14:30 Ayr – Breizh Sea @ 17/2

Division 1 of the Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap should offer a chance for BREIZH SEA to build on a pleasing first start in handicap company at Redcar (7f, good to soft) last month.

The Le Brivido filly started at three-figure odds in all three outings in maiden/novice company but showed some promise, including making the frame at Newcastle over this trip on the Tapeta at 250/1 in June.

She was a 22/1 poke on her handicap bow but ran on for third spot after getting outpaced and that form looks solid as a few of those that finished behind her have gone close since.

She races from an unchanged mark of 62 now and rider William Pyle can avail of his 3lb claim this time. There should be more to come and she is a threat to Keep Me Stable as that mare bids for a four-timer.

15:15 Kempton – Borderline Madness @ 7/1

There was plenty to like about the win of BORDERLINE MADNESS at Yarmouth a fortnight ago and the filly is taken to build on it here.

William Stone's charge was supported in the market but she looked to be getting into some trouble in that mile event when she was the meat in the sandwich between rivals Rokuni and United Force at the 2f pole.

She could easily have backed out of it, but redoubled her effort instead and came strongly between those rivals before forging clear for a decisive win.

She's rated 6lb higher now but remains unexposed at this trip and should have scope for better with that winning effort under her belt.

18:10 Windsor – Gwen John @ 11/10

It took a while for the penny to drop for GWEN JOHN as she debuted over this course and distance three weeks ago but the Kodiac filly was thrusting home fast and late in finishing a neck second behind wayward winner Come On Eibhlin that evening.

Tom Marquand's partner wasn't done any favours as the eventual winner veered across her path in the closing stages. That rival boasted some solid Royal Ascot form and this 47,000 gns purchase should have derived plenty from the experience.

She looks capable of improving now and can go one spot better under Windsor specialist Marquand for the in-form William Haggas team.

19:25 Ballinrobe – Ladiam @ 10/1

The sharp track and a light weight could prove a potent combination for Norman Lee's mare LADIAM.

She got back on track with a 2m4½f good-ground win at Sligo in June and was perhaps inconvenienced back there since by a few jumping errors on the front end.

She was runner-up at this venue over 2m6½f in May and has proved she stays further in the past. She has thrice finished second around the course over shorter distances and could be hard to peg back under her light weight now.
