15:20 Musselburgh - Crimson Spirit  @ 9/4

Crimson Spirit racked up a hat-trick of wins at tricky tracks, going off a strong favourite on all three occasions, before the winning streak ended in a big-field contest at Goodwood, where he finished 10th.

While still a Class 3, this race is much easier and there are reasons to be optimistic that this four-year-old may still be progressing.

The way Richard Kingscote rode him when winning at Epsom showed that this horse has plenty more to offer. He was the last off the bridle, only needed to be shaken up, and then had the race won.

Interestingly, this is Daniel and Claire Kubler’s first runner in Scotland. Being based in Lambourn, this is a long trek north for them, and when looking at their two most northern runners at Carlisle and Newcastle, they both have good strike rates, better than their usual and are in profit to £1 stakes at both tracks.

They will be making this journey with confidence that Crimson Spirit has a strong chance of winning, and on form, it is easy to see why.

19:40 Newmarket (July) - Rouge Dynasty @ 5/2

Rouge Dynasty has shown improvement since switching yards, winning on stable debut at Chester, and going close next time out at Yarmouth

Whilst unable to win at Yarmouth, she was only a half-length second and did pull well clear of everything else as she found herself just on the wrong side of a sustained battle with the winner. She’s gone up 4lb for that near miss.

She’s a daughter of Siyoni, and is related to horses who have placed in Group races, so is entitled to be better than a mark of 69. She looks the most progressive runner in the field and another step forward now will see her go one better.

19:40 Newmarket - Winner Rogue Dynasty

Odds correct at time of publishing.

20:00 Haydock - Moonshine @ 4/7

Ed Walker’s two-year-old filly, Moonshine, showed promise on debut and has an excellent chance of getting off the mark at the second attempt.

She was held up in rear for the most part on debut, and when asked to pick up she duly did, making steady headway through the field. She showed some greenness but still continued to stay on strongly for third, hitting the line in good fashion.

That run came over six furlongs and, based on how she finished, she looks sure to appreciate an extra furlong.

She brings the best form of any of the runners with experience, and while there are a few nice types making their debut, the benefit of that first run puts her in a much stronger position to capitalise with a win.

20:20 Sandown - Winner Port Erin

Odds correct at time of publishing.
