Tennis Betting Tips: Big Ben and Demon to duke it out in Toronto

Victoria Mboko and Elena Rybakina have already booked their semi-final spots at the Canadian Open in Montreal, but who will join the duo in the final four? Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev will take on Karen Khachanov in the first semi-final in Toronto, with the other two places up for grabs.
Below are my Tuesday Tennis Betting Tips, featuring three of the four remaining Canadian Open quarter-finals.

Set Betting - Clara Tauson (DEN) 2-0 vs Madison Keys (USA) @ 5/2
Clara Tauson shocked many, including me, earlier this week as she dismantled World No.3 and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek in the last 16 of the Canadian Open. The Dane won 7-6, 6-3 in Montreal, breaking the Pole's serve three times, to advance to the quarter-finals.
Tauson has won all three of her matches at this WTA 1000 event in straight sets, beating Lucia Bronzetti (6-1, 6-2) and Yuliia Starodubtseva (6-3, 6-0) before upsetting the odds against Swiatek.
On Tuesday, the 22-year-old takes on another top-10 player, World No. 8 Madison Keys, who demolished Laura Siegemund (6-2, 6-1) in the second round but lost the first set of her subsequent victories over Caty McNally (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Karolina Muchova (4-6, 6-3, 7-5). Against the latter, the American saved two match points in the 10th game of the third set.
Keys has won two hard-court titles this calendar year, triumphing at the Adelaide Open before heading straight to Melbourne for the Australian Open, where she claimed her first Grand Slam. The 30-year-old won 17 of her first 18 matches on the surface in 2025, but crucially, her only defeat came against her next opponent, Tauson, who beat her 6-4, 7-6 at the Auckland Open on January 3, marking their only meeting on the tour so far.
Tauson (11/10) is the underdog against Keys (8/11) in Montreal, which is understandable given Keys' superb record on hard courts in 2025; the American has won 21 of her 24 matches on the surface, and one of her losses was against World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Still, Tauson heads into this contest with the mental edge, having defeated Keys in Auckland earlier this year, and, after a superb showing against Swiatek, I believe another straight-sets success is entirely possible. At 5/2, it could be a selection worth taking on.

Set Betting - Elina Svitolina (UKR) 2-1 vs Naomi Osaka (JPN) @ 3/1
In the fourth and final quarter-final, Elina Svitolina faces Naomi Osaka for the first time since March 2024, and just the second time post-pandemic, with the Ukrainian and Japanese player having met six times between 2014 and 2019. Osaka (four wins) has the head-to-head edge over Svitolina (three) and triumphed in their last match at the Miami Open last year, while, intriguingly, all of their previous meetings have been on a hard court.
Still, it's Svitolina (4/6) who is favourite to progress to the final four in Montreal, although Osaka (6/5) is given a solid chance.
Both have been in great form at the Canadian Open, with Osaka dropping just a single set in her four matches against Ariana Arseneault (6-4, 6-2), Liudmila Samsonova (4-6, 7-6, 6-3), Jelena Ostapenko (6-2, 6-4) and Anastasija Sevastova (6-1, 6-0), as the four-time Grand Slam winner looks to rise back up the rankings after taking maternity leave in 2023 and returning to the sport last year.
Svitolina, meanwhile, began her Canadian Open campaign in the second round, beating Kamilla Rakhimova (7-5, 6-2) before securing two further straight-set victories over Anna Kalinskaya (6-1, 6-1) and Amanda Anisimova (6-4, 6-1). The latter two triumphs were particularly impressive as she lost just two games to Kalinskaya before winning eight of the last nine games against World No. 7 Anisimova.
This match marks Osaka's first as an underdog at this year's tournament, and that could be something that actually helps the 27-year-old, as there may be slightly more pressure on her opponent to deliver.
The last four head-to-heads have been wrapped up in straight sets, with Svitolina taking the first couple and Osaka claiming the last two, but I can see this one going all the way in the early hours of Wednesday (UK time).
It's the Ukrainian who I think will edge proceedings, though, after a hugely impressive victory over Anisimova.

Total Games 4 - Over 25.5 in Alex de Minaur (AUS) vs Ben Shelton (USA) @ 11/10
This quarter-final tie in Toronto pits two top-10 players, Alex de Minaur and Ben Shelton, against each other for the first time in their careers. As a result, there is a feeling of the unknown here, but one thing I am pretty sure of is that this will be a close contest.
World No. 7 Shelton eased past Adrian Mannarino (6-2, 6-3) in the second round but had to pull out all the stops against Brandon Nakashima (6-7, 6-2, 7-6) and Flavio Cobolli (6-4, 4-6, 7-6), breaking the latter's serve at 4-5 down in the third set.
De Minaur's path to the final eight has been smoother, as he overcame Francisco Comesana (6-4, 6-2) and was handed a walkover against Christopher O'Connell before beating Shelton's close friend Frances Tiafoe (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) in the quarters last Sunday.
The Australian, known for his pace and agility on court, is riding high on confidence, having won last month's Washington Open, his 10th ATP Tour singles title. He's a former runner-up at this ATP 1000 event, too, having lost 4-6, 1-6 to Jannik Sinner in Toronto two years ago.
At 22, Shelton is much less experienced than 'Demon', but 'Big Ben' has two ATP titles to his name and has been rapidly rising in the rankings. The American is the proud owner of a big serve, in contrast to De Minaur, whose returns and in-point actions are more impressive.
This should be a cracking encounter in Toronto, and with three sets looking likely, backing over 25.5 total games is the best bet, in my opinion.
