Nap of the Day: Ladies first, with super-sub Ryan stepping up

Hit the post yesterday in our bid to go back-to-back - the winner was on the favoured side of us right under the stands' rail at Goodwood, and just outstayed the selection close home. Bold effort nevertheless. Shame, as in my Lucky 15 we gave two super winners on the Downs, returned 8/1 and 4/1!
For Wednesday's nap let's stay at Glorious Goodwood - here's the science bit ...
Nap Of The Day - Wednesday, July 30
14:30 Goodwood - Lady Iman @ 6/4
14:30 Goodwood - Lady Iman @ 6/4
Colin Keane usually rides this two-year-old Starman filly for County Meath trainer Ger Lyons, but is very inconveniently suspended at present, missing this and other rides - most notably Field Of Gold in the Sussex. Expensive.
A substitute, however, has been sought and booked from the very highest echelons of the sport - a certain Ryan Moore. Lady Iman gets 6f, has collateral form with a Queen Mary winner, and has excelled at 5f - the distance of this Group 3 Molecomb Stakes.
That Royal Ascot scorer was Aidan O'Brien's True Love, subsequently a facile winner at the Curragh of the G2 Railway; and Lady Iman beat True Love comfortably at the same venue in a Listed heat back in May.
When last seen 32 days ago in a Curragh G2 Lady Iman was beaten 2l over 6f by Aidan's Beautify, double Group 1-entered, and for me these are definitely slightly calmer G3 waters she finds herself in this afternoon.
Dropping back to 5f is a plus for me too - she should hit the line strong and some of yesterday's rain might just have slowed the ground a touch, too.
It's a cracking race but for me a genuine Group 2 animal is looking to take down a Group 3 and she should have too many gears for her opponents at the business end, fingers crossed. And then there's Ryan Moore. Not a bad old sub, eh?
Odds correct at time of publishing.
