Hull FC vs Huddersfield Prediction: Hull FC push for the play-offs

Fresh from winning at Wigan, Hull FC return home looking to strengthen their playoff push with a win against a Huddersfield side smarting from a humiliating home loss to Wakefield. (15:00 Sky Sports+)
The Giants were thumped 46-10 last week and have won just three times all season, but may take some solace in Hull's home form that has bizarrely yielded only one victory at the MKM Stadium all year.

Hull FC vs Huddersfield Giants Odds
Hull are priced at 2/11 to pick up the win on home turf. The Giants are your 4/1 underdogs to do the job while a draw is priced at 22/1.
Team News
Hull have in-form prop Sam Eseh back after he was unable to play against Wigan last week given he is on loan from the Warriors. The Black and Whites also have hooker Amir Bourouh back after he missed the Wigan win through concussion protocols.
Will Gardiner also returns and there is the welcome return too of forward Liam Watts.
The four men to make way are Brad Fash - who suffered an injury in training - Ryan Westerman, Cobie Wainhouse and Will Kirby.
Still out are Will Pryce, Ligi Sao, John Asiata, Jordan Lane and Liam Watts.
Huddersfield this week saw full-back Niall Evalds ruled out for the rest of the season having made just two appearances since his move from Hull KR in March. Adam Clune and Sam Hewitt have both already been ruled out for the season.
Better news for Luke Robinson's side is the return of Fenton Rogers.
Handicap 3-way : Huddersfield Giants 14 @ 1/1
The home side should win this game comfortably but these are two very odd sides to predict. Hull FC are clearly the better team, but have such an odd record at home that only saw them win a game in their last outing.
Huddersfield have given some big teams a real scare yet continually come up short. I believe Hull will make the playoffs and should kick on at home now that monkey is off their back. If they score early here then it should be a pretty routine win, especially given the horror show that Huddersfield produced in conceding eight tries to Wakefield last weekend.
Both of our Giants tips actually landed last week, with Jacob Gagai scoring and Wakefield winning away from home. But I didn't see the margin of victory coming.
There is no real logic to this prediction given the obvious gulf in talent between the two squads - even more so with Sam Eseh back - but I quite fancy Huddersfield to make a game of this.
Certainly looking at the handicap betting I would be favouring the away side with a start rather than looking at Hull to win by three scores.
The last meeting between these two was on neutral soil at Magic Weekend, and Huddersfield won a cracker 12-10. It was even closer earlier this season in West Yorkshire when Hull won 11-10.
So I don't expect a blowout score, and as such I'm sticking with my gut feeling to take the Giants with the start.

Jordan Rapana anytime try @ 5/4
There are plenty of options in the try scorer markets this week. Gagai was my pick last week to cross for an anytime score and he came up trumps for us at 5/4. Gagai is a streaky player so you might want to back him to extend that run this week - and given the fixture is away from home the odds are even more favourable at 6/4.
For Hull, my go-to selection much of this season is Lewis Martin who always scores. He is just 4/6 this week however, so you may like to look instead at the likes of Jordan Rapana who is finding some really lively form and could be a shrewd punt to cross at 5/4.
