Cowboys vs dolphins

Just as they did in 2025, the Dolphins are experiencing a mid-season surge in the NRL Premiership. And they could secure a fifth straight win on Saturday when they face the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville (5:30pm local, 8:30am BST, Sky Sports Action).

While they’re not putting 50 points at a time on sides as they did 12 months ago, Kristian Woolf’s side are running hot in the summer months once more. My Cowboys vs Dolphins predictions can be read below with the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Cowboys vs Dolphins Betting Tips

  • Dolphins by 1-12 @ 9/4
  • Herbie Farnworth Anytime Tryscorer @ 10/11

Cowboys vs Dolphins Odds

The in-form visitors are the favourites at 8/13, with North Queensland 7/5 to record the win. The draw is available at 16/1.

Betfred is offering a couple of Price Boosts. It’s now 4/1 from 10/3 for either Scott Drinkwater or Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to score the first try of the game, while the Cowboys to win in a match featuring over 54.5 points is also 4/1 having previously been 7/2.

Team News

The big news for the Cowboys is the return of captain Reuben Cotter after being given the week off against the Raiders. He starts at 13, with Matt Lodge dropping to the bench.

Wiremu Greig comes in to the 19 at the expense of Robert Derby, while Tom Mikaele is fit to play after a knee complaint saw his participation ended early against the Raiders.

Rugby League Odds

There are a number of changes for the Dolphins following Origin call-ups last time out. In come Tabuai-Fidow, Selwyn Cobbo and Max Plath, while Kodi Nikorima and Herbie Farnworth are back from injury.

Brian Pouniu, Trai Fuller, Oryn Keeley and Tevita Naufahu miss out, while Brad Schneider, Jeremy Marshall-King and Felise Kaufusi are benched after starting the win over Canberra prior to the bye week.

Dolphins by 1-12 @ 9/4

There’s no backing against the Dolphins just now in my mind.

Redcliffe’s finest are on quite the charge, and while the Cowboys themselves have a 4-2 record over their last six games, the quality available to the Fins far outweighs what North Queensland can offer up.

With strike weapons such as the Hammer, Nikorima, Cobbo and Farnworth all back in the reckoning, one has to believe this hot streak continues.

However, the Cowboys have already shown themselves to be much better than the pushover many expected them to be this season. As such I’m going with a skinnier margin, with the 9/4 about a one or two-score Fins victory implying a 30.8% probability.

Herbie Farnworth Anytime Tryscorer @ 10/11

England centre Farnworth is back on board after a hamstring problem which ruled him out of the trip to the capital a fortnight ago.

The bye week gave him an extra seven days of recovery time and he should be firing for this one.

He was a scorer in his last match against the Rabbitohs and has four in six since the beginning of April, so I fancy him for at least one more in Townsville.
