Worcester Tips: Sam Twiston-Davies could have a productive day

Thursday provides seven options across the UK and Ireland for your racing fix and I am drawn to the jump action at Worcester, where I am keen on two of Sam Twiston-Davies' rides for the day.

14:55 Worcester - Scintillate @ 13/8

Eight runners have been declared for this Class 4 handicap hurdle over 2m. There are a few with decent claims here but none more so than SCINTILLATE, in my opinion.

The five-year-old is very familiar with her surroundings at Worcester, with four of her past six starts coming at this racecourse. The filly has posted two C&D victories, with the latest coming on her last showing on July 2.

Her other two runs were respectable second and third-place finishes, also over 2m, so she is going to be tough to beat in current form. There's an 8lb rise to consider but I think Scintillate will be able to produce another powerful performance at this track, and it will help having Jonathan Burke back on board, having been partnered together for her past four visits here.

15:30 Worcester - Whatyouwaitingfor @ 11/4

WHATYOUWAITINGFOR is still seeking his maiden success after five starts and his next appearance comes at Worcester, which he is visiting for the first time. He takes part in a stacked field of 12 runners for this Class 4 handicap over 2m, which features nine hurdles.

Representing the yard of Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies, the four-year-old gelding is yet to show real progress but there have been positives to take from his previous three outings, which all came at Stratford over 2 1/2f.

This run started with a third-place finish before consecutive runners-up placings, of which one of them was close up towards the finishing post. Sam Twiston-Davies, who has been his rider for the last three runs, is booked for Thursday, and this consistency may be of benefit.

Ground conditions are looking optimal for them and I think they are one to consider each-way.

16:42 Worcester - Sixty Plus @ 4/6

Twiston-Davies is popular among my selections for Thursday as he is representing James Owen's yard on SIXTY PLUS in the penultimate race of the day. The five-year-old gelding is declared for this 2m 4f trip, Class 4 handicap which features another stacked field of 13.

Steady progress has been made since he joined Owen's yard last month. There have been three starts since the switch, two of them coming here (Twiston-Davies on board), which includes a C&D victory in his last outing on July 17.

He made all on that occasion which was a little surprising but it was a real marker of his improvements in recent weeks, and there will no doubt be optimism surrounding his chances this time around. There's a penalty to consider but current form suggests Sixty Plus will be there or thereabouts once again.
