Team News

Victory over France came at a cost for the Germans, with influential midfielder Sjoeke Nusken suspended after picking up her second yellow card of the tournament.

She is joined on the sidelines by defender Kathrin Hendrich, who saw red early on in the quarter-final.

The two suspensions are even more costly given the injury worries Germany face, with captain Giulia Gwinn already ruled out of the tournament and another defender, Sarai Linder, unavailable after hobbling off with a foot injury against France.

There is some good news, though, with Carlotta Wamser available to return after suspension.

Today's Football Fixtures

As for Spain, centre-back Laia Aleixandri is suspended after she was booked against Switzerland.

Otherwise, the world champions are at full strength following Cata Coll’s return in goal and Aitana Bonmati making her second start of the tournament against the host nation after recovering from illness.

Germany vs Spain Odds

Spain are the 1/2 favourites for the win in normal time, while Germany are priced at 5/1, or a 16.7% chance, to cause a shock.

A draw in 90 minutes is on offer at 7/2, while Spain are 1/4 to progress to the final by any means, with Germany at 9/2 in the same market.

Spain to win and both teams to score @ 9/5

Germany have won four of the last seven meetings with Spain, with the remaining three ending in draws. Only once in that run, in a goalless draw, have they failed to find the net.

Spain are still searching for their first win over Germany, but this current side, fresh from World Cup glory, appear unburdened by the past and are unlikely to be overawed by the occasion.

Spain have cruised through the tournament with four wins from four, scoring 16 goals and conceding just three.

Germany, meanwhile, won their opening two matches, followed by a heavy defeat in the final group game and a 1-1 draw against France before coming out on top via a penalty shootout.

That match will have taken a lot out of the Germans, particularly given Hendrich’s 13th-minute red card.

While Spain are deservedly favourites, Germany are unlikely to go quietly. Spain to triumph, but both teams to score appeals.

Alexia Putellas (SPA) anytime goalscorer @ 9/4

Alexia Putellas is among the favourites to win Player of the Tournament, and the two-time Ballon d’Or Feminin winner remains a key figure for Spain.

The Barcelona star has already scored three goals and provided four assists for her country at this European Championship in Switzerland.

With the freedom she is afforded to attack from midfield against a depleted German backline, she looks good value to add to her goal tally.
