Tennis Betting Tips: Shelton to win comfortably against McDonald

Monday was disappointing as my three selections for the day were unsuccessful. I'm back on Tuesday determined to deliver a better success rate and I once again turn to the action at Washington D.C. across both the ATP and WTA events.
Below you will find my Tennis Betting Tips for Tuesday, July 22.

Match Betting - Jaume Munar to beat Marcos Giron @ 1/1
A third career meeting between Jaume Munar and Marcos Giron takes place on Tuesday, with both players having beaten the other once. Before this season, Giron was the better of the two on the hard court but now there doesn't seem to be too much of a difference between them.
Munar has spent a lot of time trying to adapt his game to the quicker conditions and he is starting to see results. The Spaniard has been having a much better time on this surface than clay this year, which tells you all you need to know.
As such, I think there is value in him getting the better of Giron in Washington. His opponent doesn't seem to have the arsenal to crush him in a straight-sets contest and if this match is drawn out, I think Munar has the chance to stun the American on home turf.

Set Betting - Ben Shelton to beat Mackenzie McDonald 2-0 @ 4/7
Wildcard Mackenzie McDonald squares up against fourth seed Ben Shelton in this all-American affair on Tuesday, McDonald earned this battle by defeating compatriot Colton Smith in straight sets on Monday.
Of course, Shelton is going to be a much tougher opponent, and he is going to make life on court very difficult for McDonald. Shelton returns to this event having made it to the semi-finals a year ago, and following his recent run to the Wimbledon quarter-finals, where he did ask a couple questions of world number one Jannik Sinner, he is one of the favourites to scoop up this title.
McDonald has faced Shelton once before, on clay in Barcelona two years ago, which he lost in straight sets. I think a similar story will unfold here because Shelton is looking sharp and McDonald is levels away from his peak right now.
I am expecting youth to trump experience on this occasion and Shelton should once again get this wrapped up in straight sets.

Set Betting - Emma Raducanu to beat Marta Kostyuk 2-1 @ 3/1
Emma Raducanu will be looking to utilise the momentum gained from her run to the third round at Wimbledon when she faces Marta Kostyuk in Washington. Kostyuk currently leads 2-1 in their head-to-head meetings, with one of her triumphs coming on this surface.
Raducanu has a lot to prove on the hard court this season as her ranking has steadily risen. She is still seeking a place in a WTA Tour final since her surprising US Open triumph in 2021. She did reach the quarter-finals here last season, and she almost defeated the eventual champion Paula Badosa.
The British star also impressed in her defeat to world number one Aryna Sabalenka at Wimbledon and she can cause plenty of problems for an out-of-form Kostyuk, who is currently experiencing a five-match losing streak.
The Ukrainian won their latest encounter which came at Madrid earlier this season and I think she may be able to pinch a set here, but on form Raducanu should be the one to progress.
