Inter Club d’Escaldes vs FCSB Prediction: FCSB to prevail

A commanding win in the first leg leaves Romanian side FCSB on the verge of qualification for the next stage of the Champions League qualifiers ahead of a trip to Andorra on Tuesday (19:30) to face Inter Club d'Escaldes.

Cameroon international Joyskim Dawa and winger Octavian Popescu both sat out the first leg with injuries for FCSB and are likely to remain absent now, though the Romanian outfit could welcome back striker Daniel Birligea after a toe problem.

France-born Andorra international Guillaume Lopez has six goals in European competition and should continue up top for the home side. Former Atletico Madrid youngster Andres Mohedano missed a penalty in the first leg and will hope he can atone now.

FCSB to win & Over 2.5 goals @ 9/10

FCSB were only having their second game back in competitive action in the first leg after a couple of pre-season runouts and it showed at times. They were dominant but not as clinical as they might have been in the 3-1 win and offered hope to their Andorran opponents after conceding a second half penalty – which was missed – and then a goal just minutes later.

Goals from David Miculescu, captain Darius Olaru and Marius Stefanescu had the Romanians in total control and they will have been disappointed not to be more convincing winners having led 3-0 after 53 minutes.

They should have the quality to see the job home, however, and over 2.5 goals in another FCSB win seems a likely outcome.

Inter Club d'Escaldes have scored 25 goals in their last nine games. The step up in class was on show last week, the first game in that sequence that wasn't an Andorran domestic outing, but they still netted despite missing a penalty.

Like FCSB, they were back from a break last week and should be sharper now. The hosts have to try and force their way back into the contest and could nick a goal, but FCSB have the quality to hurt them.
