Inter Miami vs Palmeiras Bet Builder Tips: Draw suits both parties

Group A of the Fifa Club World Cup is set for an exciting finale, with all four teams still in with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages. Inter Miami recorded an impressive victory over Porto last time out, while Palmeiras joined them on four points with a win over Al Ahly.
Both teams know that a win would see them top the group when they meet at 02:00 BST on DAZN, while a draw would see both progress to the last 16. Below you can find my Inter Miami vs Palmeiras Bet Builder Tips as we search for some value.

Draw
I understand the reasoning behind Palmeiras being favourites to win this game given themselves and their fellow Brazilians at this Club World Cup have looked incredibly strong so far. Flamengo beat Chelsea and Botafogo beat PSG, while all four Brazilian outfits now sit top of their respective groups as we head into matchday three.
However, I think game state plays a massive part in determining the result of football matches, especially in tournaments like this one. Now, the way the fixtures have panned out in Group A means that Inter Milan and Palmeiras can do each other a massive favour, simply by drawing with each other.
Inter Miami Club World Cup Preview
A draw would see Palmeiras top the group on goal difference, while the Herons would safely qualify in second, also on five points. Porto and Al Ahly can only finish on a maximum of four points, and while the combination of a Porto win and Inter Miami defeat would still work in Javier Mascherano’s favour due to the head-to-head record, they won’t want to rely on that other fixture.
Picture this, if the scores are level with 25 or 30 minutes to go - can you really see either side pushing on to gamble and find a winner? I can’t, so the value for me certainly lies in the draw.
Inter Miami vs Palmeiras Stats
- A draw would send both teams through
- Lionel Messi is averaging 2.42 shots on target per 90 minutes in MLS
Vitor Roque and Lionel Messi both 1+ shot on target
The same reasoning as above applies when assessing how this game will pan out. I don’t believe there will be that many goals, fouls or cards due to this game state, so instead for our Bet Builder I’m just going to back a couple of shots on target.
Lionel Messi scored that wonderful free-kick winner against Porto and loves to fire attempts off at goal. In MLS this season he has already had 46 total shots, with 30 of those on target at an average of 2.42 per 90 minutes. Because he is facing tougher opposition, I’ve played it safe with backing him just to have one shot on target against Palmeiras.
Palmeiras Club World Cup Preview
I’ll also back Vitor Roque, Palmeiras’ striker, to get an effort on target. He’s had an an average of 0.89 shots on targets per 90 this term, which is not on the same level as Messi, but still pretty decent. I also think the Brazilians will have the better of this game, so it makes sense to back him to trouble Oscar Ustari.
Under 9.5 corners
I don’t think either of these two will be flying forward with reckless abandon, so I think the unders corners market is worth considering. Inter Miami had just two corners to Porto’s four in their last outing, while Palmeiras had six corners compared to Al Ahly’s three in their victory.
Both of those fall under the line we have set here for total corners, and with the game state factored in, I’m more than comfortable backing this to be a fairly dull encounter.
