Sandringham Stakes Handicap 2025 Tips: Dash Of Azure can leave layers blue

There is a field of 28 three-year-old fillies set to go to post over the straight mile in Friday’s ultra-competitive Sandringham Stakes, which is set to get underway at 17:00.
My main selection in Class 2 at Royal Ascot focuses on an unexposed horse, who may be far better than her mark suggests. Below are my Sandringham Stakes Handicap 2025 Tips.
Sandringham Stakes Handicap Tips 2025 - Friday, June 20
17:00 Royal Ascot
Dash of Azure E/W @ 7/1
Betfred are offering a huge six places on the 28-runner Sandringham Stakes, and there look to be two stand-out each-way plays.
Dash Of Azure is the 7/1 joint-favourite for the fillies handicap over the straight mile, but those odds look generous as the Ralph Beckett runner could be well ahead of her lowly mark of 86.
The daughter of Blue Point failed to get her head in front across three starts in novice races last year, but it was a completely different story on her handicap debut at Kempton last month.
Dash Of Azure was sent off 11/8 at the Sunbury venue and she stayed on impressively to eventually win comfortably off a rating of 81. A five-pound rise doesn’t look harsh given the potential Beckett’s charge could still hold, and she looks highly likely to be ahead of that handicap mark.
Her dam, Miss Dashwood, won up to a mile-and-a-half on the Flat during her racing career, suggesting the three-year-old will be absolutely fine over this increased trip of a mile.
Fast ground looks suitable, and Richard Kingscote, who rode her to victory at Kempton, continues in the saddle, meaning everything points to Dash Of Azure leaving the layers blue at the Royal meeting.

Oolong Poobong E/W @ 12/1
Oolong Poobong showed a likeable attitude when destroying a competitive field in a seven-furlong handicap at Haydock last time out, and, while she steps up in grade in the Sandringham Stakes, the three-year-old looks capable of taking it in her stride.
Edward Bethell’s speedy charge traveled extremely strongly on Merseyside before drawing clear to score in impressive style. The daughter of Make Believe has progressed throughout her career and may not be done improving just yet, with this Class 2 well within her reach.
Oolong Poobong has form figures of 2,1,9,2,2,1 in her career, with the only blip coming when not suited by the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton. Like Dash of Azure, she is also up 5lb, but Bethell’s charge looks to hold a strong each-way chance regardless
