Group B is looking pretty tough for both Botafogo and Seattle Sounders, as they will come up against European giants PSG and Atletico Madrid. However, if they are to secure some points on the board and set up a shock qualification, this first meeting  (03:00 BST, DAZN), is absolutely crucial.

Below you can find my Botafogo vs Seattle Sounders Bet Builder Tips as we search for a winner.

Botafogo vs Seattle Sounders Bet Builder Tips

  • Botafogo to win
  • Arthur Cabral and Igor Jesus to score
  • Ryan Kent 1+ tackle

Bet Builder pays 6/1

Botafogo to win

I’m going to side with the Brazilians, as they are favourites to win this game and I believe they are a level above their American counterparts. Even though they’ve not been at their sparkling best in Serie A so far in 2025, I do think they have more than enough quality to cause trouble at this Club World Cup.

Let’s not forget that they won a superb treble in 2024. They dominated Serie A as they won the title by six points from Palmeiras, they also won the Taça Rio, but the reason they are in this competition is because they won their first-ever Copa Libertadores, beating Atletico Mineiro 3-1, despite being reduced to 10-men in the second minute.

Botafogo Club World Cup Preview

Seattle Sounders just don’t have the same level of prestige heading into this competition, and I think they will struggle. After facing Fogo, they could be in for two severe beatings, so I think it will be a pointless showing in the group stage for the Sounders.

Botafogo vs Seattle Sounders Stats

  • Botafogo won the Copa Libertadores and Serie A last season
  • Seattle Sounders have lost their last two games, conceding six goals

Arthur Cabral and Igor Jesus to score

Seattle have looked dodgy at the back in their last two outings, conceding three goals to both Vancouver Whitecaps and Minnesota United in damaging defeats. They now sit sixth in the Western Conference, and I think their defence will seriously struggle against decent opposition.

In what I believe could be a heavy defeat, I’m going to pick out a couple of Fogo goalscorers. Let’s start with Arthur Cabral, who didn’t hit the ground running after joining from Zenit, but has recently found his groove in front of goal. The 27-year-old has scored in three of his last five appearances and should cause Sounders all sorts of problems.

Meanwhile, Igor Jesus is one of three Botafogo players set to sign for Nottingham Forest, but he is staying with the Brazilian club for the duration of this competition. He’s got seven goals in all competitions this season but should be able to fill his boots against this opposition. Forest fans will be desperate to see him in action this summer before his supposed move to the Premier League.

Ryan Kent 1+ tackle

Former Rangers winger Ryan Kent finds himself playing his football for Seattle Sounders these days, and given I believe Fogo will dominate, I think it makes sense to pick him out to make 1+ tackle. He’s a feisty wide man who does his fair share of defensive work, and this season he has made nine tackles in 10 MLS games.

Seattle Sounders Club World Cup Preview

Given they are going to have less of the ball here, I think it’s a decent addition to our 6/1 Bet Builder.
