Team News

Lille are preparing themselves for Jonathan David's final appearance for the club. The Canadian international has confirmed he is departing Les Dogues on a free transfer at the end of June.

The 25-year-old has 25 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions this term, and he should be determined to leave on a high - with a goal and helping Lille secure a spot in the Champions League.

Andre Gomes, Tiago Santos, Ethan Mbappe and Edon Zhegrova remain on the sidelines for Lille due to injury problems, while Thomas Meunier is suspended, but Benjamin Andre and Bafode Diakite will be back in contention following their respective bans.

Lille vs Reims Stats

  • Lille have won four of their last five home games in Ligue 1
  • Reims have failed to score in their past three fixtures
  • Jonathan David (LIL) has 16 goals in the league this season

Mohamed Daramy and Reda Khadra will both miss out for Reims due to injury problems, but boss Samba Diawara has no fresh concerns ahead of their trip to Lille.

Keito Nakamura has been the visitors' strongest attacking threat this season, scoring 12 times in 37 appearances across all competitions. He is comfortably Les rouges et blancs' leading marksman but he is unavailable due to a yellow card suspension.

Jordan Siebatcheu should be handed another start up front, with one goal in six league appearances in 2024/25.

Lille vs Reims Odds

Lille have won four of their last five home games in Ligue 1, and they are 4/11 to come out on top here. Three of their past five victories have seen them record a clean sheet and they are 6/5 (which has an implied probability of 45.5%) to win to nil.

Their previous appearance here ended in a draw, which was also the outcome in two of Reims' last four away trips in the top flight. The stalemate is on offer at 4/1.

The visitors are 15/2 to spoil the hosts' plans but they are without a win, or a goal, in their past three fixtures in the league.

BTTS - No is marketed at 4/5 as a result.

Lille to win to nil @ 6/5

Lille may be needing favours from elsewhere to help their Champions League dreams become a reality but they must first focus on themselves. They have a job to do at home, which is sure to be a grand occasion. The supporters will turn up in numbers to spur their side on to victory, while also bidding farewell to front man David, who has spent the last five years at the club.

Les Dogues' recent home form sets them up nicely for this battle. Four wins from five is a great return and I think they have more than enough quality to secure the three points on Saturday.

Reims can cause them problems but seeing as they have failed to score in their previous three games, it would suggest that Lille should be able to get the job done. Due to the toothlessness of the opposition, I think backing the hosts to win to nil could be a smart selection.

This has been a successful bet in three of their past five victories in the league, while they also recorded a clean sheet when they defeated Reims in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the campaign back in August.

Jonathan David anytime goalscorer @ 9/10

This is likely going to be an emotional day for all connected with Lille as one of their star players will take to the pitch for the final time. David has the chance to help leave the fans with one last great memory if he can produce some magic that aids Lille secure a spot in the Champions League.

The forward has two goals in his last four appearances but he has 16 across the season, including one against Reims in the reverse fixture at the beginning of the season.

The stage is set for his finale in Les Dogues' colours and I think the script has been written for him to bow out with a goal, which could end up being one hell of a farewell gift.
