Everton vs southampton

Everton's final game at Goodison Park sees them host Southampton on Sunday afternoon (12:00, live on TNT Sports) in what is sure to be an emotionally-charged affair.

Off the back of a win against Fulham, the Toffees are looking to end their Goodison Park stay on a high, while Southampton are winless since their triumph over Ipswich Town back in February. Read on for my Everton vs Southampton predictions, as well as latest team news and match odds.

Team News

The Toffees will once again be without the injured trio of Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom and James Tarkowski, as all three are ruled out of action until the end of the campaign.

Jake O'Brien missed the win over Fulham with a knock and will be re-assessed ahead of kick-off on Sunday. Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Harrison are expected to occupy the flanks, with James Garner and Idrissa Gueye retaining their roles in the engine room.

Everton vs Southampton Stats

  • Everton have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 home games
  • Southampton have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, conceding 82 goals

As for the visitors, they will remain without the services of Charlie Taylor, Albert Gronbaek and Ryan Fraser.

Aaron Ramsdale is expected to start between the sticks, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Jan Bednarek and Jack Stephens in front of him. Tyler Dibling is set to make his 33rd Premier League appearance of the season here, supporting the likes of Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mateus Fernandes in attack.

Flynn Downes and Lesley Ugochukwu could retain their starting berths in midfield, while Ryan Manning and Kyle Walker-Peters may be given recalls at wing-back.

Everton vs Southampton Odds

Everton are favourites to win their final game at Goodison at 2/5, giving them an implied win probability of 71.4%, the draw is 4/1 and Southampton are 7/1 to spoil the party.

Beto currently leads the anytime goalscorer market at 11/10, while Paul Onuachu is shortest-priced for the visitors at 3/1.

Everton to win and both teams to score @ 11/5

As mentioned, this will be Everton's final match at the illustrious Goodison Park before moving into their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock for the 2025/26 campaign, although the ground will continue to host matches in the Women's Super League.

Therefore, David Moyes will want his side to put on a show and ensure that the Toffees don't lose to basement boys Southampton, who have already been relegated and are statistically one of the worst sides in Premier League history.

The Saints claimed a goalless draw against Manchester City last week, but their points tally of 12 is pitiful, and they've shipped 82 goals in 36 games this season.

The circumstances of the occasion should ensure that Everton go on the front foot but that could leave gaps for Southampton to exploit, which is why I think both teams can get on the scoresheet on Sunday. In addition, Moyes' side have only kept one clean sheet in their last 10 home games.

However, the Toffees should have too much quality for their opponents here and end life at Goodison on a high.

Iliman Ndiaye to score anytime @ 7/4

Goals have been hard to come by for Everton this season - they've drawn 15 times already this term, which is the highest amount in the entire league.

Iliman Ndiaye is one man who could make the difference on Sunday as the former Sheffield United forward has battled through several injuries to net nine goals across all competitions, and he'll be eager to get to double digits.

Southampton have the worst defence in the Premier League, so I'm backing Ndiaye to take advantage of that, and get on the scoresheet anytime this weekend.
