Girona vs Real Betis Prediction: More misery for the hosts

There's La Liga action coming our way on Easter Monday (20:00, Premier Sports 1) as Girona welcome Real Betis to Montilivi. The hosts are winless in their last nine outings in the top flight and come into this contest off the back of three consecutive defeats.
Betis are winless in their previous two appearances in the league but they did win six on the bounce before it, so they are in far greater form heading into this contest. Below you will find my Girona vs Real Betis predictions, alongside the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Bryan Gil returned to Tottenham Hotspur for treatment after suffering a season-ending knee injury with Girona last month.
Miguel Gutierrez sat out the defeat to Osasuna on April 13 with an adductor problem, so the defender is unlikely to be fit in time to face Betis on Monday
Attacker Yaser Asprilla could be handed the opportunity to start this fixture after coming off the bench to score a late consolation in the defeat to Osasuna last week.
Ivan Martin returned from a two-game injury absence to make a substitute appearance at El Sadar, with the midfielder now pushing for a place in Michel's lineup, and the Girona boss may be tempted to freshen things up as they are winless in their previous nine league matches.
Girona vs Real Betis Stats
- Real Betis have won six of their last eight league matches
- BTTS has struck in five of Girona's past six games
Betis are having to cope with a couple of season-ending injuries themselves as Marc Roca (ankle) and Diego Llorente (hamstring) are sidelined for the visitors.
It looks like Chimy Avila could miss the remainder of the campaign after picking up a thigh problem in the build up to last week's defeat to Villarreal. Manuel Pellegrini may also be without the services of Ricardo Rodriguez, who was forced off with an issue in Thursday's Uefa Conference League clash with Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Romain Perraud looks the most likely candidate to fill in for the Swiss full-back, while recalls might be in store for the likes of Adrian, Aitor Ruibal, Johnny Cardoso, Isco, and Cucho Hernandez.
Girona are 9/5 to come out on top here, which is the result of their nine-game winless streak.
Three of their last six encounters have been stalemates, which was also the outcome in Betis' latest away trip to Barcelona. The draw is available at 23/10.
Betis have triumphed in three of their previous five away trips in La Liga and they are 6/4, which has an implied probability of 40%, to take the three points on Monday.
Real Betis to win @ 6/4
The visitors are in a strong position to qualify for Europe next season, and this is without considering their progression to the Uefa Europa League semi-finals. Los Verdiblancos are currently sixth in La Liga, which would secure them a spot in the European competition they are still fighting in this term, but they are just three points behind Villarreal, who occupy the final Champions League spot.
The defeat to the Yellow Submarine last week was a setback, but they have a great chance to get back on track against Girona, who are devoid of any confidence at the moment.
Nine matches without a win is a long time and if Blanquivermells aren't careful, they could slip into the bottom three. The hosts are just four points above the drop zone with seven games left to play.
Their form is a real concern as they rank 19th over the past 10 games, so they need to correct that quickly if they wish to avoid an unpleasant end to the campaign.
Unfortunately, they are facing a Betis side who are in decent form and who are still fighting at the opposite end of the table. Pellegrini's men is full of talented individuals who have more than enough to secure them another victory on their travels.

Both teams to score @ 8/11
I do think Betis will win, but I'm not expecting Girona to just roll over - they need the points just as much as Los Mejores. That's why I am backing both teams to score on Monday night.
This has been a winning selection in five of Girona's previous six appearances in La Liga, two of which have come on home turf. There were also goals at both ends when the two teams met in Seville on the opening day of the season back in August (1-1).
Betis are on a run of four consecutive matches in which both teams have got on the scoresheet, two of which have been on their travels.
