Football Bet of the Day: Goalmouth action expected at the Racecourse

The Premier League and Championship may have taken a back seat for the time being due to the international break, but there's a huge game taking place in League 1 on Saturday afternoon (15:00, live on Sky Sports +) between promotion hopefuls Wrexham and Stockport County.
The Red Dragons are currently in the play-off places only due to goal difference, and can move back into the automatic spots with victory this weekend, while a win for the visitors would see them close the gap on the league's top-two. Read on for my football bet of the day for Saturday, March 22.
Football Bet of the Day - Saturday, March 22

Wrexham vs Stockport County Odds
As mentioned in the introduction, a crucial clash this one in the context of the League 1 promotion race as Wrexham and Stockport County both currently occupy play-off places heading into this weekend.
Stockport enjoyed a narrow 1-0 success over Wrexham when these two sides met in November, and this match-up is often tight with two of the last eight encounters have seen both teams score.
However, I'm predicting the opposite to unfold this weekend as there is a huge incentive for both teams to go for the win.
Wrexham are 6/4 to claim a vital three points, giving them an implied win probability of 40%, with the draw available to back at 2/1, while Stockport are 21/10 to do the double over Saturday's hosts.
Wrexham briefly went into the top two with a narrow win in last Saturday's away clash against promotion rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
The hosts will still have their sights set on automatic promotion, and they can leapfrog Wycombe back into second place with victory here, providing other results go their way.
Likewise, Stockport can't be fully ruled out of the equation, especially if they can get the better of Wrexham once again, as they come into this game just six points off the top two.
I'm expecting a competitive contest at the Racecourse Ground, but one where Wrexham come out on top.
Phil Parkinson's side have the second-best home record in the third tier and it is hard to see them slipping up against the Hatters this weekend as they average almost two goals per game in front of their own fans.
In addition, Wrexham will draw inspiration from the fact they have won their last three home meetings with Stockport, including a 2-1 victory in their most recent head-to-head home clash in April 2024.
