The Shrews, who were bottom of the table when Gareth Ainsworth took over in November, have picked up seven points from their last four matches to move within sight of safety.

A fourth home victory in six this week would take them to within a point of Peterborough in 20th place and dent the promotion prospects of the Terriers.

Michael Duff’s men head south after a Yorkshire derby win over Barnsley kept them in the top six, albeit eight points behind Ainsworth’s former club Wycombe in the second automatic spot.

Attacking midfielder Taylor Perry will be assessed after coming off with a knock at half-time during Shrewsbury’s 3-2 home defeat to Bolton on Saturday but Ainsworth reported no other new issues.

Huddersfield could be unchanged from their 2-1 win at Oakwell with the problems that faced returning midfielder David Kasumu and player of the match Tawanda Chirewa confirmed to be cramps.

Town are still without Matty Pearson (calf), Mickel Miller (knee), Danny Ward (ACL), Nigel Lonwijk (hamstring), Tom Iorpenda (back), Joe Taylor (hamstring), Ruben Roosken (knee), Antony Evans (toe) and Rhys Healey (knee).
