Bayern celtic betting tips

With the weekend results added to the history books, we quickly turn our attention to the UEFA Champions League knockout round playoff second legs. Tuesday brings an exciting four-game programme with action in Italy, Germany, and Portugal. The main attraction comes from the Allianz Arena, where Bayern Munich aim to finish the job with a home win over Celtic.

The hosts enter with a 2-1 aggregate lead following last week’s thrilling encounter in Glasgow. Will Vincent Kompany instruct his experienced players to defend their advantage? Will Brendan Rodgers order his team to go on the attack early? Keep reading as Betfred’s Frank Monkhouse aims for another two winning picks as he takes us through his Bayern Munich vs Celtic Predictions...

Tuesday’s meeting in Bavaria will be the sixth time Bayern Munich and Celtic have met in competitive action. The Germans enjoy near-total domination over the Scots, winning four and drawing the spare. The nearest the Bhoys have come to beating FCB was a goalless draw at Celtic Park back in 2003.

After losing 2-1 last week, Celtic know they must end that drought and score a first-ever win over Munich to stand any chance of progressing to the next round.

It’s a massive ask against one of the competition favourites, boasting a wealth of talent throughout the squad and a manager that sets his team up to dominate opponents and score goals. Rodgers knows his side must be positive and adventurous but can’t concede the first goal.

Bayern Munich vs Celtic Odds

Bayern Munich are the home team, hold that 2-1 aggregate lead, and are widely picked to win on Tuesday. It’s no surprise to see Betfred traders support the locals and chalk Bayern Munich up as solid favourites in the match-winner betting. FCB will be popular in midweek accumulators, and you can trust the home win at odds of 2/11. Tight but completely understandable, given Bayern’s win in Glasgow.

Tuesday’s game in Munich is an all-or-nothing scenario for Celtic. The visitors know they must win by at least one goal to remain in the race, while a victory by two or more goals sends them through. Few teams leave the Allianz Arena with a convincing win, but Celtic travel with hope. Anything is possible in this competition, and you can bet on Celtic at a stunning 14/1 or chance the draw at 7/1.

Bayern Munich to win both halves

Bayern Munich struggled to break down an organised and hard-working Celtic in Glasgow less than a week ago. It took the German and European football giants until almost the stroke of halftime to score the opener, with the impressive Michael Olise breaking the deadlock. Munich then exploded out of the traps in the second half, Harry Kane netting a second with 49 minutes on the clock.

Celtic staged a second-half fightback, Daizen Maeda firing his side back into the contest on 79 minutes to tie the second half, but I expect Bayern Munich will be much more convincing on their patch.

Kompany has had a good look at Celtic, including their strengths and weaknesses. The manager knows an early goal will drive his men towards safety, and I expect them to put the game to bed in the first half. The hosts will want to put on a show, and it’s worth backing them to win both halves at decent odds.

Harry Kane to score first

We were painfully unlucky to lose our bet on Hary Kane to score the opener in the first leg. The Englishman is in incredible form and added to an already stunning goals tally with another at Celtic Park, putting Munich on their way to the win. I’m happy to stick with that bet and back Kane to score first on Tuesday evening before a bumper audience.

The statistics show that the Bayern Munich attacker’s strike in Scotland was his seventh goal in five games. That run includes two against Holstein Kiel and another double against Werder Bremen at Tuesday’s venue in recent Bundesliga games. Back Kane to score first as a single bet at useful odds, or add him to your midweek multiples.
