Leyton orient vs manchester city

Manchester City travel to League 1 Leyton Orient on Saturday (12:15, live on BBC One) for an FA Cup fourth-round clash, hoping to bounce back from Saturday's 5-1 thumping at the Emirates.

City dispatched Salford City 8-0 in the previous round, while Orient currently sit in sixth-place in the English third tier and will be hoping to cause an upset this weekend. Read on for my Leyton Orient vs Manchester City prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

The hosts are set to be without Sean Clare and Omar Beckles, while Jordan Graham, Jack Simpson and Ollie O'Neill are also sidelined.

New signing Randell Williams could make his debut here, while Charlie Kelman is expected to start up top as he's Orient's top scorer with 12 goals to his name.

As for City, Oscar Bobb and Ederson will be assessed ahead of kick-off, and the likes of Rodri, Jeremy Doku, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias remain on the treatment table.

Deadline day arrival Nico Gonzalez could come straight into the starting XI here, and James McAtee and Victor Reis could be in contention to start, with Pep Guardiola expected to rotate his side.

Leyton Orient vs Manchester City Odds

In 90 minutes, the hosts are 22/1 to win, the draw is 10/1 and City are massive favourites at 1/12, giving them an implied win probability of 92.3%.

Orient are 12/1 to win the tie, with City 1/50, and Erling Haaland leads the anytime goalscorer market at 2/5.

Manchester City to win and both teams to score @ 7/4

City began their 2024/25 FA Cup campaign with a resounding 8-0 victory over Salford City last month, and they'll be aiming to once again put another lower league side to the sword on Saturday.

Guardiola will know that he needs to quickly restore confidence in his side following last weekend's shocking 5-1 defeat away to Arsenal. This encounter precedes the first leg of City's Champions League play-off clash with Real Madrid, so I'm expecting lots of rotation within their starting XI this weekend.

Orient will feel that they can trouble the Premier League champions, especially since they've only tasted defeat once in their last 14 league games. However, even with rotation, it seems improbable that City will suffer a monumental upset.

I still believe that the hosts can get on the scoresheet given that City have only kept two clean sheets in their last eight outings.

Abdukodir Khusanov to be carded @ 6/1

City's new signing is still adapting to life in English football, and had a couple of shaky moments on his debut against Chelsea.

The 20-year-old was caught on the ball early into his first appearance for his new side, and he could be targeted by Orient despite his obvious talent.

Khusanov was cautioned against Chelsea, as well as his final game for Lens against Paris Saint-Germain, so backing him to be carded on Saturday looks to be a sensible punt.
