Championship leaders Leeds United can go five points clear when they head to Coventry City on Wednesday evening (19:45). The trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena is a tough test but one the leaders can come through and move on to 66 points.

The game features as my Football Bet of the Day for Wednesday, February 5, and you can check it out below.

Daniel Farke's side are unbeaten in 13 in all competitions and come into this clash on the back of beating Cardiff City 7-0.

They next face a Coventry team managed by Frank Lampard, who has had several run-ins with the Whites over the years, adding to the spice.

The Sky Blues have won their last four league games to move into the play-off picture but Leeds' recent defensive run puts them in great shape to grab another victory.

The Leeds squad features several standout attackers, with their seven goals against Cardiff shared among six scorers, with Joel Piroe the only man to grab a brace.

Coventry City vs Leeds United Odds

Farke's team are the Championship's leading scorers and by some distance, with their 60 goals scored 11 more than Middlesbrough and Norwich.

Their ability to control games comes from a penchant for dominating possession, with their average of 62.2 per cent of the ball also the best in the second tier.

That has contributed to them conceding only 19 times, second only to Burnley's nine and they have kept clean sheets in their last five matches.

The West Yorkshire side have also recorded shutouts in three of their last four away league matches and they have clearly been working hard on the training ground, with that treble in their last four just one fewer than the four they managed in their first 10 away matches.

Football Odds

They now face City, who are unbeaten at home under Lampard. The narrative in the build-up will be about his clashes with Marcelo Bielsa in 2018/19 when his Derby side beat Leeds on their way to the play-off final.

It is almost going under the radar that Coventry remain unbeaten at home since his appointment in November and they beat Swansea 2-0 on Saturday.

A seventh unbeaten game at home will see Lampard emulate Jimmy Hill's club record from 1961/62 of avoiding defeat in his first seven in charge in front of his side's fans.

Lampard has also won three of his last four matches as a manager against Leeds, drawing the other, but that run could end on Wednesday.

Farke's team were brilliant against Cardiff, ripping the Welsh club apart with their free-flowing play, but their fans will tell you that their possession-based style means they can be frustrating to watch.

It often tires opponents out, though, with gaps occurring as the game progresses.

With them able to rely on their defence, the visitors to the Coventry Building Society Arena have the firepower to grind out a sixth successive victory with an accompanying clean sheet.
