PAOK vs Slavia Prague Prediction: Hosts can make it three on the spin

PAOK have enjoyed a resurgence in the Uefa Europa League of late and they will be determined to see that run continue when they host Slavia Prague on Thursday night (20:00, TNT Sports 10).

Winning at Rigas FS 2-0, before a 5-0 home thrashing of Ferencvaros, PAOK are making a late push for qualification to the Europa League knockout stages.

Starting with the hosts, PAOK will be without midfielder Mohamed Mady Camara as he is suspended for this game.

Meanwhile, Tiemoue Bakayoko (bruise), Andrija Zivkovic (knee) and Omar Colley (ribs) are all injury doubts ahead of Thursday's game for the Greek outfit.

Jonathan Gomez (illness), Thomas Murg (illness) and Dejan Lovren (ankle) would also have been doubts were they eligible to feature in the league phase of this year’s Europa League for PAOK.

As for Slavia, Jindrich Stanek (shoulder), Lukas Vorlicky (muscle) and Tomas Vlcek (knee) are all long-term absentees and remain sidelined this week.

Ondrej Kolar, Alexandr Buzek, Petr Sevcik and Lukas Masopust are also ineligible for Slavia at this stage of the competition.

PAOK are the slight favourites to win this one at 6/4, with Slavia at 7/4 to leave Greece with the three points.

A draw is available at 5/2, while both teams not to score in this game is currently 6/5.

Confidence should be pretty high in this PAOK camp going into Thursday’s game on the back of those wins over Rigas and Ferencvaros.

Coming out on top in both games to nil, PAOK have been showing defensive resilience that can see them progress in this competition if they keep it going.

Slavia, on the other hand, have largely disappointed in the Europa League this season and there are few signs things are going to get any better for the Czech outfit this week in Greece.

Winning just one of their last eight games in this competition, Slavia have been unable to take their dominant domestic form to that next level on the European stage.

PAOK, with winning momentum behind them and home advantage, look a good shout to win this one at 6/4.

Getting on the scoresheet in both those wins over Rigas and Ferencvaros, it’s hard to look past Kiril Despodov making it goals in three Europa League games on the bounce this week.

The Bulgaria international has been scoring consistently since making the move from Ludogorets Razgrad to PAOK in 2023 and he’s well priced at 13/5 to add to his goal tally on Thursday against Slavia.
