Football Bet of the Day: Burkina Faso & Senegal both to score in Bamako battle

Thursday's Football Bet of the Day comes from the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, Mali as Burkina Faso take on Senegal in a top-of-the-table clash in Group L of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.
There was nothing to separate the sides in September's 1-1 stalemate at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade, and with both already qualified for the finals, we could see more goals in the Malian capital.

Burkina Faso and Senegal are both level on 10 points in Group L of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, and with Malawi fourth on zero points and Burundi third on three with two games remaining, there is no danger of either being caught in the race for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Les Etalons and Lions de la Teranga will both compete in the tournament which takes place in Morocco between December 21, 2025, and January 19, 2026.
However, there is still the small matter of top spot and bragging rights to sort.
Burkina Faso currently lead the group on account of their superior goal difference which stands at +7 (10 goals scored, three conceded), one ahead of Senegal's +6 (seven for, one against). Lions de la Teranga will clinch first place with a win in Bamako, though, as head-to-head matches are the tie-breaker.
The nations drew 1-1 in September's reverse fixture at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Diamniadio; Sadio Mane opened the scoring for the hosts in the 16th minute and the one-time Afcon winners thought they had done enough to claim all three points until Ousseni Bouda's strike in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage-time stole a point for the visitors.
That was the third consecutive game between the pair that both teams had scored following a 2-2 draw in a World Cup qualifier in September 2017 and a 3-1 win for Senegal in the semi-finals of Afcon 2021, which was played in 2022.
Both teams scoring has actually been a common occurrence for Burkina Faso this calendar year with 11 of their 14 games, including three of their four in Afcon qualifying, finishing with at least one goal on either side.
It hasn't been quite so prevalent for Senegal, who have only seen both teams find the net in four of their 13 contests in 2024, and only once in this qualification campaign - although that was the reverse fixture with Burkina Faso.
There's little for either side to lose on Thursday but plenty to gain as it really is a winner-takes-all clash. A draw, meanwhile, would send the race for first to the last day, with Burkina Faso in the ascendancy, although Senegal will back themselves to beat Burundi at home by two or three goals.
With Bertrand Traore and Dango Ouattara in the home ranks, and Mane, Nicolas Jackson and Iliman Ndiaye on the opposite side, there will be plenty of attacking quality on display in Bamako, and we could see a few goals fly in.
At over EVS, both teams to score is my Football Bet of the Day for Thursday, November 14.
