The Tricky Trees have won each of their last three Premier League matches, including two on the bounce at home without conceding, which has contributed to them having the best home defence in the division.

Newcastle’s away troubles have continued into this season, with just five points taken from a possible 15 on the road, and the Magpies have lost two of their last three away from Tyneside - against Fulham (3-1) and Chelsea (2-1).

However, they did draw at the City Ground in the Carabao Cup earlier this season - winning on penalties after that match finished 1-1 - and so they have shown that they can restrict the hosts. Backing the double chance may therefore be the safer play.

The 32-year-old has scored in each of his last six appearances for club and country and this purple patch of form could see him bag against his former employers on Sunday.

 A tough day at the office could be in store for Newcastle and they may have to resort to the dark arts if they are to disrupt the momentum of their in-form hosts.

One man who is no stranger to cautions is Brazilian midfielder Joelinton, who leads the way in both fouls committed (24) and yellow cards awarded (four) for the Magpies this season.
