Dundee United v Motherwell Prediction: Go wishing that Well can claim win

Fourth in the Scottish Premiership takes on fifth when Dundee United entertain Motherwell at Tannadice Park on Tuesday, October 30 (7.45pm).

And even at this early stage of the season, with fourth place in the table guaranteeing a spot in European football next season, this match has the feeling of a big deal.

United's Macedonian winger Kristijan Trapanovski came off at Aberdeen after feeling his hamstring, but boss Jim Goodwin insists he'll be fit.

Definitely out, however, are two-goal top-scoring defender Ross Graham, striker Louis Moult and Australia international wing-back Ryan Strain.

Central midfielders Ross Docherty and Craig Sibbald are also sidelined.

Motherwell are definitely without Liam Gordon, the middle man in their back three, because of a ban after being sent off in the 3-0 home defeat by Celtic. Dan Casey will probably come back in.
