Blackburn Rovers will be looking to keep their 100 per cent record at home going in the Championship when they entertain West Bromwich Albion at Ewood Park on Wednesday (19:45, Sky Sports+). Their home form is going to be vital as they aim to avoid relegation for the second season in a row, but for now their interest is in the goings on at the top of the table.

Albion are winless in their last four, so this is going to be a very tough place for them to visit to get back to winning ways. Read on for my Blackburn vs West Brom prediction, including match odds and team news.

Blackburn vs West Brom Betting Tips

  • Blackburn or draw and both teams to score @ 6/4
  • Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

Blackburn vs West Brom Odds

Blackburn are 9/5 to keep their winning run going, which gives them an implied probability of 35.7%. West Brom are priced at 6/4 to take the three points, giving them a theoretical chance of 40%. The draw can be backed at 12/5 (29.4%).

Over 2.5 goals is available at 1/1 and both teams to score is on offer at 4/5.

West Brom striker Josh Maja is the joint-leading marksman in the division with seven goals. You can get him at 11/2 to open the scoring, or 15/8 to score anytime on Wednesday night.

Rovers forward Yuki Ohashi has bagged four for himself this term, and he is valued at 21/10 to find the back of the net at any stage during this contest.

Team News

Blackburn boss Josh Eustace is without the services of defender Scott Wharton, who is sidelined until the New Year with a cruciate ligament injury. Zak Gilsenan and Harry Leonard are also in the treatment room, limiting Eustace's options in attacking areas.

Makhtar Gueye has been given the nod up front for the past two games, but the wait for his first league goal has stretched to nine matches now. He has still had an impact in the final third with three goals, and his physical presence will be handy against the Baggies.

Top scorer Ohashi will be pushing for a recall, however. The three positions behind the striker should remain intact with Todd Cantwell, Tyrhys Dolan and Ryan Hedges.

Andi Weimann will be hoping to get a run out against the side he spent the second half of last season on loan, with the Austrian having provided a couple of goals for Rovers himself this campaign.

For Albion, they have been given a boost with the news that American striker Daryl Dike has returned to training following another big injury lay-off. He's been out since February with an Achilles issue, and it is hopeful he could be reintegrated into the squad next month.

With four matches without a win, Carlos Corberan could opt to freshen up his team ahead of this trip to Lancashire, with the likes of Mikey Johnston, Jed Wallace and John Swift hoping to profit.

Despite a few lapses of concentration in recent weeks, the Spaniard has continued to show his faith in centre-back pairing Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi.

Blackburn or draw and both teams to score @ 6/4

It feels foolish to bet against Blackburn at home right now, but Rovers will face arguably their toughest test yet at Ewood as West Brom come to town. Albion may be in a bit of a rut at the moment, but they still boast one of the strongest squads in the division.

Both these teams are level on points heading into this match, so it highlights just how tight this match should shape up to be. The confidence gained by the hosts from their winning streak at home should come into play here.

Eustace is making Ewood a fortress, similar to what he was trying to do in his full season with Birmingham City in 2022/23. The crowd are behind him and the players and they have been making it a hostile environment for visiting teams.

Momentum is certainly with them heading into Wednesday, and they will be hoping to profit from Albion's disappointing form. However, I regard Corberan as one of the best coaches in the division, so I don't think it will be too long before his side are back to picking up wins again.

That being said, I can't see it happening on this occasion because they are facing the team with the best home record, and they themselves are still prone to defensive errors. They have the quality to hurt Blackburn in attack, but I find it hard to see Rovers losing.

I've covered Blackburn or draw for this one, and boosted the odds by adding both teams to score. This is because BTTS has been a winning selection in four of West Brom's four trips on the road this season.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

With the attacking quality these two teams have to offer, I think backing over 2.5 goals could be a worthy selection on Wednesday night. Rovers have scored 16 goals this term and Albion themselves have managed 13.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in six of the hosts' 10 league fixtures this term, as well as in three of their five home clashes. For West Brom, just four of their 10 matches have seen at least three goals scored, but all of them have come away from home.

In addition, over 2.5 goals has been a winning selection in four of the last six league meetings between these two teams. Therefore, I think we will see this trend continue at Ewood Park and 1/1 offers great value for this particular market.
