No joy last time but refreshed after the international break, Jamie Pacheco is back with three more selections from three of Europe’s top leagues.

This week we travel to Vigo, Paris and Venice in search of a three-way acca that can put us back in profit for the 3-3-3- column. Check out his Football Accumulator Tips for this weekend below...

Football Accumulator Tips - Cross-European Acca

  • Celta Vigo v Real Madrid – Back Real to win @ 3/5
  • PSG v Strasbourg – PSG to win and over 2.5 goals @ 4/7
  • Venezia v Atalanta – Both Teams to Score @ 8/11
  • Treble Odds = 3.34/1

Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked.  It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:

  • 3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.
  • 3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.
  • 3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above.  And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...

Current P and L: -0.81pts

We weren't even close two weeks ago with two selections falling short and the third match – Benfica's visit to Nacional da Madeira – being called off due to persistent fog. But with clear minds rather than foggy ones, we carry on in search of a recently elusive 3-3-3 winner.

Celta de Vigo v Real Madrid

Saturday, October 19, 20:00

Selection: Real Madrid to win @ 3/5

Just a couple of months into our brand new 3-3-3 column and we're happy and proud to announce that we have a bogey team. If you've been following it since the summer, we don't need to tell you who it is. If you haven't, we will; it's Espanyol.

Twice they stopped us in our tracks with spiteful, spirited efforts that denied us big wins. Quite why they have it in for a Betfred Insights betting column is anyone's guess, but they certainly seem to.

But Celta de Vigo are certainly not Real Madrid's bogey team.

It's now six matches in a row where they've travelled to Vigo and 'virtually' taken the three points home. Here are the results in that sequence: 0-1, 1-4, 1-2, 1-3, 1-3 and 2-4.

So, at the most basic level, it's hard to argue with the theory that Real don't mind a trip to Celta. As Sir Alex Ferguson once said in a very disparaging tone ahead of a match with Tottenham: "Lads, it's Spurs…"

As ever, there's a fly in the ointment. Real are yet to win in three trips on the road this season with draws at Mallorca and Las Palmas followed by a shock defeat at Sociedad. But long-term head-to-head records often tell their story and Real could easily make it seven in a row at Vigo.

PSG v Strasbourg

Saturday, October 19, 20:00

Selection: PSG to Win and over 2.5 Goals @ 4/7

The PSG big money, big-hitting, big-scoring forwards may have travelled to pastures new but the goals carry on coming regardless when they're in action. At least at home in Ligue 1.

In three matches at the Parc des Princes this season, they won 6-0, 3-1 and 3-1 so it's not just the over 2.5 goals barrier they've been clearing but the 3.5 one, as well.

Strasbourg don't mind (can't help?) big scoring matches of their own with 3-3, 1-0 and 2-2 their latest results in France's top division.

All of the last four games here in Paris between the two would have paid out in exactly the bet we're going for with scores of: 3-0, 2-1, 4-2 and 4-0. A fifth PSG win in a row with over 25 goals in the game is a 4/7 chance. And that will do us just fine.

Venezia v Atalanta

Sunday, October 19, 14:00

Selection: Both Teams to Score @ 8/11

If something has happened 6/7 times this season you suspect that may just be about to become 7/8 for the season this week.

Yes, our good pals at Atalanta continue to buy into attacking football, carefree tactics and entertainment value above all else.  Only a 4-0 defeat at Inter a few weeks ago didn't see goals at both ends in their seven matches so far this campaign, although the alternative gamble on over 2.5 goals did of course pay off on the day for the 3-3-3 column.

As ever, not all stats suggest this is a certainty. Venezia, they of the city surrounded by water, never-ending tourist traps and rather unique home stadium have yet to have a BTTS match at home this season, with a 1-0 home defeat to Torino followed by a 2-0 home win against Genoa.

But results on the road suggest they have the potential to be ever the BTTS side that Atalanta are. It's 4/5 on the road for Venezia this season for Both Teams to Score games, which apart from anything else, begs the question: why have they have played five times away so far and only two at home?

But Serie A scheduling isn't our concern. Winning selections making up a part of our acca are, however.  We take comfort from the fact that the last match played here between these two- a 3-1 win for Atalanta back in 2022 – would have paid out and that Atalanta are normally a banker for BTTS matches, irrespective of who they're playing.

8/11 looks good, all things considered.

James' Fun Fact

Hey Jude: what's going on? After scoring seven goals in his first eight appearances for Real Madrid last season, including five in his first four, the goals have dried up for the Stourbridge-born Wunderkind. This season he's yet to find the net in eight appearances for Los Merengues, which also included getting booked in three of them. But he's likely to miss this weekend's match against Celta with injury anyway.
