Lithuania vs Romania Prediction: Tricolorii a level above hosts

This international break concludes on Tuesday with the last group of these Uefa Nations League games and at C level Romania head to Lithuania in what could be a one-sided affair.
Romania have won all three of their group games so far, scoring nine goals and conceding just one in the process and a win in Kaunas on Tuesday (19:45) would leave them in a strong position to move up to B level with two games remaining. Lithuania have three defeats in as many games and look destined for an immediate return to the bottom rung of this competition. Read below for my Lithuania vs Romania prediction.
Team News
Both sides came out of their opening games during this break unscathed and Romania coach Mircea Lucescu may stick with the same XI that downed Cyprus 3-0 on Saturday.
If the visiting boss does opt to rotate, Horatiu Moldovan could be handed a spot in goal and the players who came on as substitutes in Cyprus are contenders to come into the starting XI.
Paulius Golubickas scored after coming off the Lithuania bench in the defeat to Kosovo and that strong cameo could see him come into the side, while veteran Fedor Cernych is closing in on 100 caps and could be restored to the first XI.

Romania are the heavy favourites to win the game at 1/2 and Lithuania are 11/2 underdogs, while a draw is on offer at 3/1.
There have been at least three goals scored in each of Romania’s last four games and in Lithuania’s last two; over 2.5 goals is priced at 10/11 for this fixture.
Both teams scored in the reverse fixture and goals at both ends on Tuesday is 1/1.
-1 Handicap - Romania @ 7/4
Lithuania gave Romania a bit of a scare when these sides met in September and they nearly left Bucharest with a point had it not been for two late goals for the Tricolorii.
That was arguably Lithuania’s best display at Nations League C level and they were second best throughout at home to Kosovo over the weekend, whereas Romania made a bit of a statement with a 3-0 win in Cyprus.
The visitors have scored exactly three goals in all three of their games so far, and they won the shot count 15-8 when these sides met in Bucharest in September even if they did need a couple of late strikes to get over the line.
Romania should come into this game with a spring in their step after comfortably brushing a decent Cyprus outfit aside last time out, while Lithuania are on a three-game losing streak and the visitors have enough quality to cover a -1 handicap in Kaunas.

Anytime Goalscorer - Razvan Marin @ 3/1
Romania’s Razvan Marin has three goals in as many games in this competition and at 3/1 is of obvious interest in the anytime goalscorer market.
Marin scored in back-to-back Serie A games for Cagliari before linking up with his country and then struck in Larnaca.
The 28-year-old has scored in all three of Romania’s games in the Nations League and will also be on spot-kick duties, so he is a strong candidate to get on the scoresheet.
