Bosnia vs Germany Prediction: Can Undav continue fine form in front of goal?

Germany came close to doing something special this summer. At Euro 2024 they were quite clearly the second-best team at the tournament, but collided with Spain in the quarter-finals and had their hearts broken in the last minute of extra-time. Julian Nagelsmann remains in charge and they have made a decent start to this Nations League campaign, smashing Hungary 5-0 before drawing 2-2 with the Netherlands.
Next up, on Friday night, they travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina (19:45 kick-off), in the hope of making it seven points from three games and topping League A Group 3 in the Nations League. Below you can find my Bosnia vs Germany predictions with team news and betting tips.
Team News
RB Salzburg's Amar Dedic is out for the hosts due to a muscular problem, but experienced front man Edin Dzeko is expected to captain the side once more. He found the net the last time these two sides met, opening the scoring before Germany turned things around in a 3-1 win.
Former Arsenal man Sead Kolasinac will operate on the left, while Ajax’s Benjamin Tahirovic is an emerging young star in midfield. There are five German-based players in this Bosnia squad, including number one goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj, who plays for St Pauli.
Meanwhile, Germany have several key players out of these two Nations League fixtures through injury. Kai Havertz (knee), Robin Koch (hip), Jamal Musiala (hip), David Raum (ACL) and Marc-Andre ter Stegen (long-term knee injury) are all out of the squad, meaning that Nagelsmann will have to give some of his fringe players a chance.
Deniz Undav should lead the line again, with Florian Wirtz, the star of the Euros also involved. Joshua Kimmich should captain this side from right-back, with Pascal Gross, now of Borussia Dortmund, also involved in the midfield.
Bosnia are 10/1 to win this game, with Germany available at 1/4. A draw can be backed at 5/1, over 2.5 goals is 1/2 and BTTS is 10/11. Undav is the favourite to open the scoring at 4/1.
Germany -1 @ 8/11
This should be fairly straightforward. Germany are rocking and rolling right now, and their performances at Euro 2024 were extremely impressive and the defeat to Spain is the only match they have lost this year. That one didn’t even come in 90 minutes, and Nagelsmann has certainly transformed the fortunes of this side.
Their performances in the Nations League so far have also been strong, and their feels like there is a growing momentum, built around the emergence of young players such as Wirtz and Musiala. Bosnia aren’t a bad side by any stretch, but they lost 5-2 to the Netherlands and could only draw with Hungary.
Germany could rack up the goals here, but I’m happy to back them simply to win with a -1 handicap on this occasion.

Deniz Undav to score first @ 4/1
Undav has been in superb form since joining Stuttgart from Brighton on a permanent basis this summer. After hitting 18 league goals in the Bundesliga on loan last term, perhaps it is no surprise that he has picked up where he left off, and he’s already got four in six so far this season.
He has also broken into the national team during this time, and found the net against the Netherlands last month for his first international goal. With Havertz out, he should be given another start, while Germany managed 21 shots in total against the Dutch. I think they will be even more dominant against Bosnia, and I’m happy to back Undav to bag the first goal.
