Everton vs Newcastle Prediction: Toffees can frustrate visitors

Everton will be seeking to build upon their first win of the Premier League season when they welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon (17:30, live on Sky Sports Main Event).
Last Saturday's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace could be a turning point for Sean Dyche's side after a slow start to the new campaign, while Newcastle's 11 points from a possible 18 is their best start to a league season in a decade. Read on for my Everton vs Newcastle prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Everton vs Newcastle Betting Tips
Team News
Jarrod Branthwaite made his long-awaited return for the Toffees last week, but a quad injury could keep him out of Saturday's clash, while Jack Harrison could replace Jesper Lindstrom, who was substituted at half time last week due to a "below par performance" in Dyche's words.
As for the visitors, Alexander Isak will miss out on the trip to Goodison, after suffering a broken toe in the win against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.
That means ex-Everton forward Anthony Gordon could start up top, while Kieran Trippier is expected to return to the fold after missing the cup tie with AFC Wimbledon in midweek.
Callum Wilson remains on the treatment table, along with Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, although the former Bournemouth striker is expected to feature in first-team action towards the end of the month.

Everton are 21/10 to make it back-to-back wins in England's top-flight, giving them an implied win probability of 32.3%, while Newcastle are 11/10 to claim their fourth victory of the season.
The draw can be backed at 5/2, and both teams to score is currently priced up at 1/2. Anthony Gordon is 2/1 to score anytime on his return to Goodison, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is 15/8 to make his mark against the club he nearly joined over the summer.
Double Chance - Everton or Draw @ 7/10
Everton had a disastrous start to the new campaign, losing their opening four games, including throwing away back-to-back two-goal leads in consecutive away matches. However, they built on their impressive starts in those matches to take four points from their last two outings.
Newcastle have had their best start to the season since 2011, but I haven't been that impressed with their performances. In addition, their away form is a cause for concern - they were beaten at Craven Cottage in their last away trip, and they suffered 11 defeats in 19 on the road last term.
Everton's defensive improvement should frustrate Newcastle here, who are dealing with a lengthy injury list - the most notable absentee being Isak - so I struggle to see where the goals will come from for Eddie Howe's side.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Dwight McNeil to score anytime @ 16/5
McNeil scored twice in last week's win over Crystal Palace and he's stepped up his attacking output in recent weeks.
The former Burnley man has racked up seven shots across his last two games, and has scored in two of the last three meetings between these two sides. With four goals to his name already this term, I'm backing him to continue his strong start to the campaign.
