Southampton/draw double chance
Southampton are still on the hunt for their first Premier League victory of the season, but the Saints look a bet to take at least a point from the trip to south coast rivals Bournemouth.
A 1-1 draw against Ipswich last weekend was a step in the right direction for the Saints, but Southampton had been putting up some pretty good performances in defeat.
Martin’s men were unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Newcastle and Nottingham Forest in their opening two matches of the season, and even the 3-0 defeat to Man Utd was a game in which Southampton should really have taken a lead.
Bournemouth are a decent unit, but they are missing prolific forward Dominic Solanke from last season’s squad and the England forward’s departure is being keenly felt by the Cherries.
Andoni Iraola’s side have picked up only one win this term and that was a dramatic last-gasp 3-2 success over Everton. Bournemouth look mighty short at 8/13 and punting Southampton or the draw on the double-chance market looks a play.
Under 2.5 goals
Dominic Solanke’s big-money move to Tottenham in the summer has left Bournemouth a little short in attack and the Cherries may have a job breaking down Southampton.
Andoni Iraola’s men have scored only five goals in their opening five Premier League matches and it’s two shutouts on the bounce for Bournemouth.
The Cherries hit three of those five goals in a three-minute spell against Everton and the lack of attacking threat has to be a concern. Evanilson was signed as Solanke’s replacement, but the Brazilian is yet to score in five appearances for the Cherries and backing under 2.5 goals looks a bet at the Vitality Stadium.
Ryan Christie to be shown a card
Ryan Christie has been reinvented as a combative, pressing and aggressive midfield player and the former Celtic man has been shown three yellow cards in four Premier League starts this season.
Southampton have plenty of excellent ball carriers in their line-up, which could see Christie chasing and tackling in a bid to stop the Saints attack.
Backing the 29-year-old to be shown a card can complete a three-leg 20/1 bet builder.
