Storm vs Roosters Predictions: Storm can edge out Roosters to reach Grand Final

Friday morning throws up a mouth-watering clash between two of the most successful teams in the modern NRL era as the Melbourne Storm host the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park (10:50 kick-off).
A 10-hour drive might separate these two teams but the success of both clubs has meant there has been a great rivalry between the sides.
With both teams battling for a place in this year’s NRL Grand Final to face either the Penrith Panthers or the Cronulla Sharks, expect fireworks in the Friday morning showdown in Melbourne. Check out our Storm vs Roosters prediction below.
Storm vs Roosters Betting Tips
Team News
Melbourne have made no changes to the 17-man squad that thrashed the Cronulla Sharks 37-10 in their last outing in the play-offs.
Sua Fa'alogo has recovered from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the Cronulla clash but head coach Craig Bellamy has decided to stick with the same squad that bested the Sharks.
As for the Roosters, head coach Trent Robinson has also named the same squad that earned a 40-16 victory over rivals Manly Sea Eagles last week.
Victor Radley has been playing through the pain with a fractured shoulder blade and once again starts for the Roosters on Friday.
Melbourne are the heavy favourites at 2/7 to win the game in the 80 minutes, with Sydney the 11/4 underdogs in Victoria.
A draw in 80 minutes at AAMI Park is available at 20/1, while Will Warbrick is the shortest price of 4/6 in the anytime tryscorer market.
Melbourne Storm 1-12 point winning margin @ 2/1
Winning 10 of their last 11 meetings with the Roosters, it’s hard to look past Melbourne coming out on top in Friday’s clash, especially with the advantage of playing at AAMI Park where Sydney have lost on their last three visits.
While the Storm should win this one, the Roosters will be up for the challenge and won’t make life easy for the hosts.
Going with Melbourne to win by a margin of 1-12 points would have come in two times in the last three meetings between these rivals.
The Storm have the quality to win this but it shouldn’t be a whitewash and the 2/1 for a winning margin of 1-12 points appeals here.

Under 45.5 total points @ 5/6
Going with under 45.5 total points would have landed in all of the last three meetings between these great rivals.
With so much on the line and a cagey game expected, it’s hard to see Friday’s match breaking the trend and for this play-off showdown being a high-scoring contest.
All things considered, there’s value to be had going with the under 45.5 total points here.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
