Fulham take on Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00), looking to extend their unbeaten run in the top-flight to four matches. The Cottagers were sent out of the Carabao Cup in midweek after a 16-15 defeat on penalties to Preston North End.

Newcastle remain unbeaten in the league with three wins from their opening four fixtures, including their last two outings. Read on for my Fulham vs Newcastle prediction, including match odds and team news.

Team News

Carlos Vinicius is still out of action for the hosts, but it is hoped that he will be available for selection again later this month. This should see Raul Jimenez continue up front for Marco Silva's side.

Reiss Nelson started on the wing in midweek and found the back of the net, so he could be in line to keep his place against the Magpies on Saturday. He will be tussling with Alex Iwobi for the spot on the left flank.

The likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Kenny Tete, Andreas Pereira, Bernd Leno, Sasa Lukic, Antonee Robinson and Adama Traore should all come back into the fold against Newcastle.

Newcastle are still without several players due to injury, with Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Lewis Miley all in the treatment room.

Callum Wilson doesn't appear to be too far away from returning to action but this game might come to soon for him. Joe Willock returned to play in the second half last weekend and could be pushing for a start here, as will Sandro Tonali, who hasn't started for the Magpies in the league since October.

Alexander Isak is deemed a doubt for the weekend after suffering a toe injury in the week.

After scoring the winning goal at the weekend for his second of the campaign. Harvey Barnes could return to the starting XI in place of Jacob Murphy. Howe continues to persist with Murphy on the right because both Barnes and Anthony Gordon prefer to play on the left. The Magpies boss needs to find a way to start them both because they are both in Newcastle's best XI.

Newcastle to win @ 11/8

Fulham were in cup action in the week and I think their lengthy penalty shoot-out defeat could take its toll here on Saturday. The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last three in the league but I think they will slip to a defeat to the Magpies.

Newcastle are aiming for a third consecutive win in the Premier League and they are yet to taste defeat. They haven't been at their best so far but that will please them as they know there are still more gears for them to find as the season goes on.

Isak has just one goal so far this season, so he has some work to do if he is to emulate last year's haul of 21 in the top-flight, but he could miss this clash altogether because of a toe problem. He had a profitable international break with Sweden so it feels like it is only a matter of time before he starts scoring regularly again for his club.

Isak and Gordon have just the one goal each but the latter came close to netting his second at Wolves last time out as he cannoned the post with an effort from the left. Both players are two of Newcastle's most important players, so the fact that the team are getting points on the board while they are waiting to find their rhythms is a good sign moving forward.

Fans will be hoping that both can profit this weekend, and I am inclined to believe we could see at least one of them get on the scoresheet in west London. The extra break they've had in comparison to their hosts should serve them well, so I am confident they will win this clash.

Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13

Over 2.5 goals may have only landed in one of Fulham's four Premier League fixtures so far, but I think this market is worth considering this weekend. There have been at least three goals scored in two of Newcastle's league encounters, and both have come in the last two fixtures against Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Magpies are yet to truly demonstrate their firepower and despite having experienced a strong start to the campaign, Newcastle will need their star attackers to start firing sooner rather than later if they wish to return to the Champions League next year.

Fulham are also yet to blank when playing at home in the Premier League this term, so I think there is a good chance we will see both teams score in this encounter, which has been a winning selection in three games for both sides in the top-flight.
